I fish a small river close to my house where the ‘holes’ are 5 foot deep. I always throw a brown/orange jig and hop it off the bottom. My wife throws a weightless Senko so we’re at opposite ends of the water column. I think smallies are so aggressive that if they’re suspended they’ll gladly swim down 3-5 feet for a meal or vise versa.

You don’t have a shut off where the water line comes through the floor? Maybe things are different up here but every fixture has a shut off. There are several reasons why they’re put deep. One like you said freezing water, there are times even insulation doesn’t do the trick. Another and probably the main reason is liability. If a shut off fails and destroys your house you’re going to be even more ticked. It’s easier to replace a small section of a yard than someone’s entire life (house). Another reason is it makes it pretty difficult to turn water back on after it’s been shut off for non payment when it’s 4’+ underground. I Doubt this’ll help ease your frustration at all, but I tried. While you have the water shut off, install some shut offs on your fixtures to prevent aggravation in the future.

It’s not possible that it was a well used lure and the hook finally ripped through and the angler lost it? I never throw my soft plastics in the water NEVER, but I still manage to lose soft plastics to the drink. Maybe I’m the minority here....

Maybe the customs agent who had your lure is a member hear....check the ‘latest catch pic thread’. Maybe your Japanese supplier is a trusted business? Or maybe businesses get top priority?

To be honest I have no clue. I haven’t seen him in probably 20+ years, it’s been quite a while since I’ve talked to his dad as well. His name is Ryan Ralph if that helps your local search.

You don’t connect like colors together on both ends though. I’m pretty sure you can just use a thermostat wire, they’re cheap enough. On my Echomap units I have the brown and blue like you said. What I was told on another forum is brown to brown and vise versa on one end then brown to blue on the other end. Hope this helps.
