  1. not all mediums are created equal. if its fairly stout it can be a great rod for lightly weighted plastics finesse jigs etc. they are also usually good for trebele hooked topwaters and smaller crankbaits when target casting at the bank.
  2. i want to be educated. i dont care about watching somebody cast and wind in fish. if its someone i know can really catch them there doesnt even have to be a fish caught. show me seasonal lake breakdowns on a map. show me subtle nuances with lures or bass location etc. ive seen plenty of guys wind in fish . that doesnt help me.
  3. thats true. if he has a decent trade in policy i just may
  4. i wont exchange it Tom. if i am impressed with it ill order more. if not ill find a use for it.
  5. thanks guys. i think ill try the dragger just to get a feel for the alx rods. if i like that one i may venture into the enox .
  6. thanks guys. which enox do you have? tell me a little about the feel sensitivity etc.
  7. thinking of ordering an alx enox lsb for carolina igs football heads etc. anybody have any experience wit this rod series. never owned alx before. Would also be interested in comments on the zolo dragger.
  8. you did the right thing. i have 2 7ft medium exprides and a 72 medlite .we use alot of spinning rods in these parts. great rods youll love them.
  9. yeah i got rid of all my old ones. moved to megabass and expride. got 2 new ltb when they came out. big improvement . really like the new ones.
  10. if you havent checked recently you may want to give the new ones a look. not near as tip hevy as the older models. if you checked out the new ones and still think they are tip heavy then my apologies.
  11. as others have said you cant 'feel a loomis' with an e6x or even a gcx. their are way better rods in that price range. you need to go to the imx pro or higher series.
  12. im about 50/50. most of our lakes are pressured and clear. so drop shots ,neds, wacky senkos, do well. but most also have grass. so if im fishing the grass with worms , jigs chatterbait etc im casting of course. so for me it just depends on which pattern i can get the most bites on at the time. to me theyre just tools and i use what i feel is the best tool for each job. dont really prefer one over the other.
  13. i would think you could. i threw one on my 6xd rod this spring and liked it. the slower action gives a nice delay on the hook set but it has good power in the midsection to move fish.
  14. the stock hooks work fine as long as you dont put too much pressure on fish.in japan where the baits were designed jerkbait fishing is a pretty finesse deal. the americans use heavier tackle and thats why some have trouble with the hooks.if you want to replace them the gamakatsu Aaron martens finessse treble #5 is the same weight and designed as a replacement. as far as your hook up problem it sounds like the fish are swiping at the bait buy not really eating it.its a common problem and those sticky little hooks will catch the outside of the mouth but pull loose. usually a slight adjustment in cadence, color, or size (110 junior maybe) can help solve the problem. or sometimes not, some days thats just how there biting.
  15. i have a 7ft medium a , a 7ft medium b and a 72ml b. i see people say the 72 ml is more of a medium but i dont agree. the 72 is my primary dropshot rod. i think people say that because of the backbone in the rod. it has a fairly sot tip about the first 8 inches . but when she stiffens up it has alot of power in the mid and lower. the 2 7ft mediums feel identical to me. i prefer them for shakey heads, flukes, wacky senkos etc.
  16. yeah i know. its hard to get a cloudyor drizzly day with 10-15. iys either beach weather or pouring rain and howling wind here.
  17. if you have sunny weather with no wind this time of year can be a nightmare. for me at least. had weather just like that saturday. 15 boat tournament 7 boats zeroed. depressing i tell you.
  18. i have 2 of those exact set ups. one for worms one for jigs. both with 14 pound fluor and both are on my deck every trip from the time i launch til the time i put it on the trailer.
  19. some of them i like some i dont. in have a shakey head spinning rod that i really like and an EMTF that i really like for shallow to medium divers. i looked at a braillist but it seemed a little tip havy to me. thats just personal preference. they do seem sensitive and have beautiful cosmetics.i bought all of mine when they were 299 at 349 idk i feel like for a few more dollars i can get better rods. but the good thing is they have a cult following so if you dont like it you could easily sell it for a minor loss.
  20. thats funny because ive been waiting for my local shop to get a 76 mh in stock for months. i have 2 72 medium heavys a 610 medium and a 72 heavy. i want the 76 for carolina rigs and big football jigs. if im not mistaken tacklewarehouse and omnia both are pretty well stocked on exprides.

i catch way more fishing slow. jigs, worms ned etc. i dont know if its because alot of our waters are clear and pressured or what. some days they will blast a spinnerbait or bladed jig but alot of times they wont. maybe its just a confidence thing. ive been trying to fish power techniques more to get better at it.
  22. thats one reason i hesitate to say florida. i go for 2 weeks every year and the fishing opprotunities are tremendous. but man i just dont know if i could tolerate the heat. now if i could spend june july august and september in upstate new york im all in.
  23. i only use it if i see schooling fish or if i notice fish following a fish that ive caught. ive had some luck with it but its not what i usually start with.
