  2. I took my truck in for service (oil and tire rotation) this morning and while waiting in the showroom, I had a salesman pop the hood on a new Silverado. You should have seen the look on his face when I pointed at the battery and told him he'd to knock off a hundred for that. The money is not in car sales, it's in service charges.
  3. Yes! You'll want to check their inventory often between now and February as they try and move out the 2019 models. I've saved $300-$400 buying like this.
  4. Today's mail call: A few skirt tabs, multi-colored weed guards, and Teflon pins.
  5. This was fun. Had to change out a battery today and discovered that GM does not want it to be a DIY job. No mention in the owners manual, thank goodness for YT. I guess the guy in the video didn't see the tabs holding the busbar on the battery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35ih6Ncd_Eg
  6. Black Friday haul, a new jig oven and powder paints.

  9. Thanksgiving 1967, Republic of Vietnam. (Photo by John Olson) Over 5000 turkeys have already been consumed by our men and women deployed overseas this Thanksgiving.

  11. I stopped kissing bass after I got "bass tongue."
  12. Braid lasts, so not so much. I respool FC and mono early February and when ever it gets low on the spool.

  14. Hoping for the best Tom.
  15. Nishiki Pointers @A-Jay? I have a few of the LC Pointers in Nishiki and they're some of my favorite.
  16. I have a brother and three sisters who draw Illinois States pensions, I hear your pain often.
  17. I've got a lot of those spinner baits, they go through wood like a hot knife through butter. Love em! Who makes those?
  18. Going to be a full house come Thursday and everyone gets their own can. Spam turkey smothered in cranberry sauce, now that's the ticket!
  19. I lost a $400 outfit from my yak 10 years ago, now I use these. (rod leashes) It's a sickening feeling watching an expensive outfit making a fast dive in a deep lake.
  20. First, I want to thank @Glenn for allowing this post. Last Thursday, a young man lost his father, Warrant Officer Knadle, an Apache chopper pilot. WO Knadle was killed in Logar Province, Afghanistan, while providing close air support for U.S. ground troops. He was based, with his family, at Fort Hood, Texas. He leaves behind a 15 year old son who I know from first hand experience, as well as some of you do also, is experiencing a lot of emotional pain. Chris Payne, a kayak angler from the same community and friend of the family, is organizing what we hope will be a special Christmas for this young man in the hope that it will lift his spirits. We are looking for outdoor gear, specifically fishing, to present to Knadle's son this Christmas. I have put together a small box myself that I'm sending out tomorrow. If you would like to be involved in this effort, you can contact Chris direct by calling 512 517-3916 to discuss the boy's needs, or you can go ahead and send your donation (No Money) to the following address: Chris Payne 2510 Twin Ridge CT Belton, Texas 76513 Lets help introduce this young man to healing waters.
