What kind of rod and line are you using?

One of my brothers does this.(He doesn't really like fishing and hardly ever goes) He says he would rather reel with his right hand so he just flips it over fishes away. It drives me crazy, which may be one of the reasons he does it.

Wacky rigged wiener, let it hit bottom for several seconds then hop it and let it flutter back down, and hold on tight! Ok actually never tried it but it sounds legit.
