  1. Talk about classy! WOW!
  2. You can get the Lowrance Elite 7-ti2 with ActiveImaging transducer for $749. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-LWRFFCP.html?from=basres A lot of guys will also recommend a Humminbird, IMO both are good brands, I've just never used a HB.
  3. I'm not sure if its clueless or if they want an audience. I've been out fishing a 10-15 minute run from the nearest marina(@50ish mph), only to have a jetski come by, see me in my boat. Then start doing 360's and other "stunts" less than 100 yards away. I know he has every right to be there, but when there is thousands of square miles of marshland to choose from, I don't find it a coincidence that I just happen to be fishing next to the best jetskiiing stretch of water. This happens more times than I can count, I'm convinced its wanting an audience.
  4. Those decorations are blocking the bottom of the TV screen. LOL, that would drive me nuts! ?
  5. https://openlibrary.org/books/OL24220371M/Spoonplugging. ^This is how I read Spoon Plugging. While not many fishermen troll for bass anymore, most other points in the book are still valid. The Fishermen Critical Concepts books are also a good choice. I'm currently reading "In Pursuit of Giant Bass"
  6. I say go for it, and worry about that bridge IF you ever have to cross it. I'm sure you could even get a doctor to sign a document explaining your situation. You shouldn't let the possibility of having to take a polygraph hold you back.
  7. Yep. DST means the start of Wednesday evening tourney and fishing after work.
  8. Waters, Gatorades, 1 coke, beef jerky and a sandwich. I usually don't eat and sandwich till the ride home in the truck. I only bring 1 coke, because if I bring more than 1, I'll drink them all day instead of water or gatorade.
  9. I see plenty of people bass fishing out of aluminum Bay boats. I considered buying one a few years back, but in the end I decided to stick with a side console. I just couldn't get past having the console taking up that space right in the middle of the boat. I ended up buying an an Xpress h18 bass. I know in Xpress case, the hull on their H18 bass and the H18 bay boat are exactly the same, the only difference is the console and interior layout. As far as the 20 Lowe bay, I've heard a lot of good things about those boats. They are pretty popular in SE Louisiana, at least when it comes to Aluminum boats.
  10. Looks like its still the same.
  11. Under "Places" on the left, you should see Toledo Bend Maps.kmz. Expand that and you can select the location names that you it to to display.
  12. Thank you for this. Its works perfectly. I live in N.O. and only fish TD about twice a year and sometimes I cannot figure out the local names. This is great.
  13. I remember him saying this as well. I agree, it does seem like a silly rule. Then you hear Sams story about paying guys to practice for you, then the rules makes more sense. Still ruins it though for the fans who wanna talk fishing with pros.
  14. I have a Lowrance 9ti at the console, and a Lowrance 5ti at the bow. I wanted the larger screen in the back because sidescan is easier to read on a larger screen. I pretty much use the bow the unit for checking depth and finding dropoffs, I don't have deep enough water to video game fish. I also have my console unit on a Ram Mount, so I can turn the unit around when I'm on the front desk and still see my sidescan or map.
  15. ??? This chocolate lab with Ike
  16. Congrats man. My son is almost 10 months old already. I too, am hoping he will enjoy the outdoors as much as I do.
  17. Favorite color for worms and creature baits, 2nd favorite is Watermelon Red.
  18. Kayaks don't bother me, they have just as much of a right to be out there as anyone else. I'd prefer to be surrounded by Kayacks than jet skis or wake boats that's for sure. I occasionally fish out of my dads Kayak, I do take more of the @A-Jay approach though, there are certain high traffic areas I personally stay away from, just because I don't trust the other guy behind the wheel.
  19. The local club I fish with only says that "all angling must be conducted from the boat. At no time may a contestant leave the boat to land a fish or make the boat accessible to fishing waters". It doesn't go into details as far as at what point you are considered no longer in the boat. The following is from the 2019 BASS Elite Series rule book. During the competition days, competitors must not depart the boat to land fish or to make the boat more accessible to fishing waters. Competitors may not shift a majority of their weight outside the boat and onto a dock or other object outside the boat for the purpose of landing a bass or accessing a fishing spot. A bass that cannot be landed without the angler leaving the boat or shifting his weight outside the boat must be released immediately. While landing a fish, an angler is allowed to protect his boat by shoving it away from an obstacle as long as a majority of the angler’s weigh is inside the boat. Competitors are allowed to leave the boat to retrieve a lure. All fishing by that competitor must cease until the competitor is back in the boat. Only then may another cast be made.
  20. Looks like Live coverage doesn't start till tomorrow, only weigh-in coverage today. From what I found. BASS has live coverage today of the Elites, if you're bored and looking for something to watch. https://www.bassmaster.com/live/tournaments/2019-bassmaster-elite-st-johns-river
  21. All the time, most of the daydreams involve taking my son fishing when he gets a little bit older.
  22. That's pretty awesome. You should to start a thread, where once a week you post one of your fishing stories. I for one, never get tired of reading them.
  23. On a positive note, between BASS and BPT, we have a great 3 weeks of Bass fishing. We had BPT Tuesday-Sunday last week, Thursday-Sunday this week we have BASS at St Johns. Starting Tuesday next week, we have BPT on Conroe. I don't know what to do with myself
  24. I hear ya. I have trouble keeping track of the MLF cup events every week, by the time the newest episode has aired, I've just about forgotten what happened the week before. They cut 20 today from group B, then combine the two groups for the final 40 tomorrow, then I think it cuts to top 10 for the final day.
  25. There are only 20 that have been cut so far. The first 20 were cut yesterday, and the 2nd 20 will be cut today. As of now KVD is in 35th place in the 2nd group, in 30 minutes he will be cut if we doesn't move up.
