  1. This week was my best so far. With temps in the lower 40's and 15-30 mph winds, I hit the river for some action last Sunday. Despite the conditions I managed to land 4 smallies, the biggest being 14 inches. 3 of them were caught on a tube, and one on a rat-l-trap. I was happy to catch somethin! On Friday, Carson (the captain) and I hit some ponds. We had luck at one, pulling in some spots, ranging from 10 inches to 15 inches. I am so glad to finally set some hook!
  2. Went to Little Buffalo on Saturday. I was fishin from the bank, so my spots were limited. I started off throwin a white chatterbait with a chartreuse trailer, the water was stained, I had a hit on that but that was it. I had another rod rigged up with a senko, so I threw that. The first two casts I found the tree on the bottom, the third cast i brought it over a limb and let it fall and bump.........bump........WHAM! I set the hook and he started to run up the lake, he didn't get far, the line snapped. I guessed he was about 2 or 3 pound or so, oh well. For the rest of the day I threw senkos and had a few more hits but didn't land any. I don't care though, it was 60 degrees and sunny, it was just nice to get out!
  3. I would say my favorite is (from bottom to top) a slice of bread, two slices of scrapple side by side, then some maple syrup, then some bacon, then a big egg, then another two slices of scrapple and some more maple syrup, then the other piece of bread. Fast food burgers = Hardees jalepeno 2/3 pounder.
  4. Well, they're basically a big shiner. Not teeth, big scales. Shiny silver color.
  5. FINALLY, I caught a fish. It was only a 22 inch fall fish, but it's the first one I got this year. It also beats my pb fall fish by 1 1/2 inches. Today was my 26th time out this year. I caught him on a 4 inch senko, junebug color. I was fishin rocks and logs in 6 foot of water. It's not a bass, but it's a fish, so I don't care. I'm just so happy!
  6. I mostly fish a small crick. We use rapala jointed shad raps in the spring, I went through 2 of them last spring. Then when it gets into summer, we throw tubes, senkos, and wooly hawgtails. Then in fall, it's spinnerbaits, and larger crankbaits.
  7. Thanks skeeterman24!
  8. Well, I had 21. Moving too fast.
  9. Mine come up as the book about the whale. But there's also a bar in san francisco called Moby Dick. Interesting.
  10. Hmmmm, can't say I have. But I do dream about fishing a lot. I hate it though, i'm about ready to land that 15 pounder..........and I wake up. I have tried goin back to sleep to see the fish, but it never works! aaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggggggg >
  11. I like the 100 series. I caught my second biggest fish on the brown/chartreuse 100 series. I also do good on the purple colored one in the 300 series.
  12. Can we post about streams also on this thread?
  13. Do you know the water temp? I would try some jigs and spinnerbaits, being that the water is murky, when it clears, some jerkbaits may be productive. Depending on how dirty the water is, I would go with a 1/2 ounce black bucktail jig with a black 4.25 inch Yum wooly bug dipped in chartreuse spike-it, only the tip of it. And work it slow. As for spinners, I always have luck on the white strike king red eye special in the 3/8 ounce, but I switch the big blade for a large colorado blade, and I might add a white trailer on it. Good luck, let us know how you do!
  14. Northern eutrophic lakes, ones mostly vegitation, have a much higher nitrogen level than a regular lake. Thats why I wondered if it made a difference to the fish.
  15. Does the nitrogen in the lakes have any effect on the way laremouth's live? I know that the higher the nitrogen, there is usually more plant growth, but is there any other effects? Thanks!
  16. 3.19$ a gallon in central Pennsylvania. It was down below 3 till that explosion, then it went up.
  17. I found it thanks to........... basser89!
  18. Captain, cut the line as close to the hook as possible. The fish will take care of the rest. If you can't revive the fish, then you should keep em. You should have put this is the general forums.
  19. x2 what muddy said! Thats the way we go up here!
  20. All the above + BPS jerkbaits. I'm not sure the correct name of em. They work well, especially the suspending ones.
  21. Did somethin similar to this but with a culprit worm. I cut tentacles behind the hook, but not on the tail. It is hard to do, but it gives it extra action.
  22. Thanks! I think I will fish that after I am done at tech school. Then work till i have a good amout of money saved. That way I have something to fall back on. I want to move to Maryland, maybe i can join a club there.
  23. Ok, heres the situation. I want to start fishing tournaments. Eventually I want to move up to some of the larger tournament trails, such as the Wal-Mart tour, or the FLW Tour. But I dont know where to start. The only club within a reasonable distance from me has disbanded, so theres no chance of joining that one. My buddies and I are tryin to start one, but i'm not sure it's gonna work because we may not have the people. I have thought a long time on this and cannot figure anything out. I dont know how or where to start. If any of you have any advice, I would surely love to hear it. Thanks a lot!
  24. Yeah captain. It will be here before we know it, then it will be gone just as quick.
  25. That is cool! You would think it would be more, being there is so many members.
