  1. I would but it if it was available to me. And if throw a 6 speed daiwa fuego ct on it
  2. My next suggestion would be to texpose a non z-man plastic with a 2-4/0 ewg hook, if you are sure it is bass hitting your bait.
  3. I'm a big fan of the daiwa tatula ct and tatula sv. Curado k has amazing reviews. But at your price point you could get a fairly high end Shimano or daiwa.
  4. @FishDewd are you Tex-posing your hook or leaving in buried in the plastic? Also what style/size hook?
  5. I cannot wait to tell somebody this one liner.
  6. Not a fan of z-man plastics on a Texas rig. Very hard to get a hook through that tough plastic and into the fishes lip. And in your picture it looks like you got very little penetration out of the worm.
  7. Make sure you look up proper mechanics of casting. Its not the same whippy action like a spinning rod. Nice smooth cast using the lure to load the rod on the back swing. Another tip would be to roll your wrist over when your making a cast. So that your reel handle ends up at 12 or 6 o'clock at the end of your cast.
  8. What hook/bait combo are you using. I have no problem with owner 4x jungle hooks
  9. Welcome from another hoosier. There is a thread somewhere on indiana clubs. Maybe @IndianaFinesse or @Team9nine could direct you in the right direction.
  10. Higher the ratio, faster the retrieve rate. For an all around reel I like 6.8 to 7.3
  11. Well that stinks. Glad i bought it when I did.
  12. I throw 1/2 and 3/4 ounce lipless cranks, 5&6xd, and bandit ledge 250's on a 7'5 cabelas tournament zx crankshaft. Been super pleased with it. It has winn grips which are nice and doubles as a nice deep water spinnerbait rod.
  13. Heard that this morning on the radio and you were the first person to pop into my mind. As someone who aspires to be an LEO, this saddens me. you will be in my thoughts blue
  14. Hopefully a mid range casting rod without Eva foam handles
  15. @Ksam1234 you're welcome. If you like the specs of the lews, I've got one that I don't use anymore and have been contemplating getting rid o. For a good price
  16. 7'3 heavy lews tp-1 speed stick 735 dobyns fury
  17. When I'm fun fishing I always reach for my pitching sticks, jig rods, and deep Texas rig rods. But in the few tournaments I fish, I try to adjust my techniques to the conditions. But that doesn't always happen and a lot of times I end up with one of my favorite combos in my hand due to conditions and or the confidence to land bigger fish on those techniques. But the lakes I fish set up will for those. Deep brush, weed lines, and shallow wood cover, so maybe that's why I have so much confidence in them because that's what I've grew up fishing? But if I had to go to a deep, rocky, clean lake I'd have a hard time adjusting to fishing things like drop shots and Crankbaits as well as I fish my heavy(er) cover techniques.
  18. The Curado with the digital chip braking system? Or the Curado k?
  19. Haven't heard or read about this reel until about 20 minutes ago. I've always loved the sound those reels make and for the msrp of $250 It's gonna be hard to fight the bait monkey off. Is this new news? Or am I just behind?
  20. Fo small bodied cranks up to about a 3xd I like seaguar senshib10lb. For lipless cranks and medium/large cranks I like 12lb sunline assassin. for magnum cranks like 8-10xd, magnum squarebills, I like 30lb daiwa j-braid x4
  21. 7' medium daiwa fuego. Way under budget, can be had for around $60 or less. And it matches up perfect with a tatula ct type r
  22. I fish a lot of rods in the sub $130 range. The fury or the lews tp-1 speed stick to me are the best bang for your buck. With the falcon Bucoo sr, daiwa fuego, and cabelas zx following closely behind. I have handled veritas rods but didn't care for them as I'm not a fan of the Eva foam. But to each their own. Another rod that I plan to pick up but haven't yet is the all-star nano. The 7ftmh would make a killer 1/4 to 3/8 jig and Texas rig rod.
