  1. 30lb braid 10-14lb copolymer or mono leader
  2. Just picked up a 7' medium heavy duckett micro magic from American legacy fishing for $120. Usually a $150 rod. Very good with 1/4 ounce up to 3/8 ounce jigs
  3. If Bryan thrift is fishing, thats who I would choose. John Cox would be a close second.
  4. The Curado k can be had from ebay for under $150 especially when they have active coupons. I love my fuego ct's they are very reliable and i got them for under $60 a piece.

Strike king. Although I wouldn't ever chose to have just one brand.
  6. I have a ten year old daughter and I like to let her use whatever she chooses out of my box until she doesn't catch any or asks me what she should throw. For moving baits I like swimbaits, grubs, and spinnerbaits. For slow moving baits I like something with a lot of action (pit boss, rage tail craw, etc) that way if she is working it too fast you get the good swimming action, and it's hard to work a soft plastic too slow. Win, win in my opinion. Also we never leave to go fishing without a piece of bread or two In case the bass aren't biting we can go for catfish or bluegill.
  7. Lews tp-1 7'3 heavy Dobyns fury 735 Daiwa fuego 7' heavy

  11. Awesome. Sad that it seems every fish you catch you can't ever get it all the way out of the water and you never have a scale.
  12. 50Lb braid to 20lb big game or cxx for me
  13. Chatterbait trailer and finesse jig trailer.
  14. Omfishingsinkers.com Not bulk but the cheapest I've found that are good quality
  15. I'm a big fan of full cork handles and small cork foregrips/locking nut
  16. Bowhunting, Bowfishing, Slow pitch softball, ar-15's, and anything my kids are in to. The last one has taken most of the time I have for the first few hobbies.
  17. Spro king daddy is a giant frog that I like.
  18. One year ago today my wife gave birth to a tiny 3lb 7oz dark haired little boy. He went from having tubes, and needles in his arm and a ventilator hooked up to him, to now weighing 27lbs and he ate a whole chocolate donut for breakfast for his birthday. Being a father is one amazing feeling.
  19. I throw the magnum ol monster (12") primarily with 1/4 or 3/8 ounce weights just got the fact that I need a bit faster fall rate because i fish them in deep thick brush piles and want the worm to go all the way to the bottom and not have the tail hang up on a limb halfway down.
  20. Honestly it's a toss up for me. I like both cork and winn grips and despise Eva foam so the grips for either wouldn't be a deciding factor. Of it were me I would put a fuego ct on the tp-1 And tatula ct on the fury. Just because those reels and rods match up very very well.
  21. Love my 735's but if you plan to use spooks and jerkbaits it would be very far down on the list to use with those lures. I use one of my 735's for 3/8 up to 3/4 ounce flipping and swim jigs and the other for deep texas rigs, magnum shakey heads, football jigs, and carolina rigs. I think The 704 or 734 would suit you well. Depending on what you like length wise. Another very versatile rod that I like is the lews tp-1 speed stick. 7Ft medium heavy. I have used this rod for Everything from senkos, frogs, jigs, flipping, Texas rigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, underspins, swimbaits, and buzzbaits. As far as line goes, 40lb braid is a good starting point. Trilene xl, xt, or big game are good monofilament choices as well as seaguar senshi. I have 20lb senshi on a couple rods and although it sounds like big heavy line, it works very well and has very small diameter for 20lb line. Kastking super power or daiwa j-braid x4 Are my favorite braids. If you are thinking about using fluorocarbon at all (i wouldn't being that you are new to baitcasting) sunline assassin in 15lb test is a good line with decent manageability. P-line cx or cxx in 12-15lb sizes are solid choices as well. Good luck with your search and make sure to post up what you purchase.
  22. 704 with a tatula would be my choice.
