New Boat
Covers I have 0 information on. But if you are fishing in the rain I would think the boat would have a bilge pump, if not, a small electric pump from harbor freight, wired to alligator clamps hooked to a small 12volt battery works great. Its what we use in my buddies 18 ft jon boat and also use it to fill our portable live well. As far as driving in the rain, we pull the plug as soon as the boat exits the water and leave it out until we take off the straps to launch the boat. Just make sure if you have water in the boat and you take off driving with the plug out thinking you are draining the water, remove all debris that could stop up the drain hole. We flipped my friends boat and trailer going about 20mph around a curve because it was still full of water due to a few zoom lizards plugging the drain hole. But once it flipped over, all the water came out very fast lol.

Why on earth would anyone spend $400 on a bass rod?
I use $400 rods to fish with. And $120 rods to beat dead horses with.

Your favorite fishing photo?
Another one of my favorites. one of My best friends and I share a birthday so we decided to go out on our birthday and try to shoot some fish. We shot 108 total. 75 pictured. We had my old chevy pictured loaded down so much it was squatting. We estimate around half a ton of fish. Still our best day bowfishing as far as numbers go.

New Boat
Your fj would pull and stop that boat/trailer/gear just fine without trailer brakes if you drive with sense and remember you have it back there.

How far south for winter bass
South of Indiana. We haven't gotten above 10 for a week. In only 30 minutes from Kentucky. Id say minimum middle of tennessee for a decent bite

Drop Shot Rod Help
I don't care for drop shotting, unless I'm going for numbers. Which is rare. But I use a 6'9 medium power lews mach 1 speed stick. Picked up the whole combo for 99 dollars. It's not a whippy rod and has what I consider an x-fast action. I use it for wacky senkos and Shakey heads under 1/4 ounce. It has served me well. Also the dobyns 702 fury is in your price range and it is a rod I plan to pick up. And from what I read its hard to beat a fury for the price. I have also used my 7ft medium baitcasting rod that I cannot mention for dropshotting and neko rigs and liked it as well. It is way under budget at 60 dollars

Guess The Weight.....?
A 24' bass is probably around 90-95 pounds. But a 24" fish is probably pushing about 8lbs. Sorry couldn't resist Great catch. Especially from a yak.

Is 50lb braid too heavy for Small Shiner fishing?
50Lb is pretty universal for baitcasters. Maybe a touch heavy, but it'll work.

Rant
People would rather be on their phones than in front of a tv. Myself included. Its all about the money. Money is power and whoever has the most money has the most power over the industry.

What to use 7'4 MH MF rod for
I prefer a moderate fast rod for jigs and Texas rigs. Would also make a great carolina rig rod. Wobble heads, football jigs, big spinnerbaits/chatterbait. Swimbaits on heavy jig heads and possibly ripping lipless cranks out of grass.
