  1. This is my 146. It looks like yours dwarfs mine by 10-20 inches. Maybe I'm going crazy. Great deer regardless. Congrats
  2. As a 5'9 guy I used to find it hard to fish a 7'0 or longer rod. Experimented around with a 7'6 but settled on a 7'3 heavy. I enjoy it but it is different mechanics than when I pitch a jig with my 7ft. I'd look into a 6'10 heavy. I know falcon makes a rod with that length & power Also daiwa tatula elite 6'9 heavy
  3. Yeah I've heard it's easy to skunk but it can also be on fire. I knew earlier in the year you had talked about going there didn't know if you had went at all.
  4. Bottom contact baits are a must. If you can fish a jig or Texas rig, it makes things easier. Imo
  5. Have you made it on patoka recently? My grandad has been teasing me about a story of when he went 6 for 6 on casts with a crankbait At patoka and had 28 pounds. The smallest was 2lbs. We are planning a trip in March I believe.
  6. Welcome! We are glad you are here and thanks for your service. There is plenty to learn here.
  7. 17Lb p line cxx. Just my suggestion.
  8. Still shaking my head at 130. What did it net?
  9. Leave everything but a jig at home and throw it anywhere that looks fishy. It is a technique that can be amazing at times.
  10. Your name suits you well
  11. 1. 10.5" Xcite baits Maximus worm 7.2 2. Magnum Rage bug 6.7 3. 1/2 oz Terminator Black and purple jig 6.3 4. KVD Sexy Frog 5.75 5. Weighted, Texas rigged Senko 5.6
  12. That's 2 rods. A medium light spinning rod and a medium baitcaster. Don't over complicate things. They make line snips, if they ain't biting one tie in another.
  13. 2 words, pink buzzbait. Kills them every time.
  14. The invisi-lure, so much action the fish don't even need to see it lol
  15. Probably that sponsors rod and reels. If I was a guessing man I'd say it could be lews.
  16. The fuego is the tatula without the t wing and without as flashy of paint.
  17. For 90 bucks the tatula ct cannot be beat I feel like. Even the 150 dollar curado doesn't beat it in my opinion. Another cheaper option is the fuego. Practically the same reel just not as flashy. Or spend 135 on a reel and try the tatula sv tws. I think a 704 or 734 Would suit you fine. Although they are listed as heavy power, it's my understanding that they fish closer to a mh
  18. Looks like it would be a great wobble head bait in cold water. Too expensive for me though
  19. I ordered mine online with free shipping to store.
  20. I just picked up a halo starlite from Wal-Mart for around 55 bucks. Although not a crankbait rod it has a moderate/moderate fast action. I will be using it for jerkbaits for sure and square bills possibly
