  1. Sorry didnt mean to hijack this thread. It can be moved to one of mine or “show your work”
  2. My spinnerbait making has slowed down since i decided to buy a fly rod and have been working on some fly patterns but i have still made a decent amount. I have more in the garage ill show at some point. Ive been experimenting alot with hair bodies and using hollow ties. My fingers pay but i get a really cool skirt effect from hollow tying bucktail
  3. That is where i bought mine. Im going to be looking to upgrade though because the ones i bought are flimsy
  4. Mostly because i’d never made a spinnerbait before and i like to do things the difficult way i guess. I’m sure next time ill buy prebent forms. I was able to make my first inline spinners though also. I kind of had that in mind when i bought the wire
  5. In some ways yes, i agree with this if its a mold you would use repeatedly over time, then its probably smarter to invest in buying one. However, if its something you dont use alot of, go through alot of, special scenario bait. This is still a great value.
  6. Sounds like a great idea

Zoom trick worms wacky rigged, not sure it counts but gulp 3 or 5” leach dropshot, berkley powerworm t rigged, 5” curlytail worm in black with a chart tail gets me tough bites
  8. Awesome video A-Jay. I love the idea of having everything available to me regardless of what im fishing in. I’ve been kicking myself for some time now because i had one of those worm binders for several years and pitched it because i myself am a knucklehead. Would love to see a softplastics organization video. Great work.
  9. Very nice.
  10. Look good. Very nice. Those mustad hooks?
  11. I left the collar fully intact on the jig as i really didnt have any sort of plan for the tie when i started. It didnt really make it as difficult as i feared it might. The spinnerbait was one that poured a messed up collar and i had been saving for hair. Worst part about it was when i got close to the head i kept poking my fingers on the hook, because i was struggling to build the thread dam.... ouch. It was worth the finished product though. Hopefully going out tomorrow and ill be able to try them out
  12. Made a black bucktail hollow tie spinnerbait as well. Added black crystalflash green flashabou rabbit zonker claws and black craft fur mid section. Feel like this will push some water and be good in low light conditions. Thank you. Even if it doesnt. Part of the fun of all this is try’s ng new things, especially things you really dont see done alot on jigs.
  13. Ive been watching too many fly tying videos lately apparently and had to try hollow tying a jig with bucktail. First i had to find a pen big enough to fit over the head, but once i did, it was alot of fun. Im not sure how well it will fish, but it looks cool anyway.

ThAt is always an awesome feeling.
  15. I just did a bunch of 3/32 1/8 and 3/16 ounce wormhead jigs (aka ned head with collar) i used both fluid bed and just dipping in container. Honestly as long as u keep pait loose in jar it works just as well on those jigs.
  16. I got really into lure creating with the crappy weather this weekend. So into it i stayed up until 3am friday night. ? creativity bug hit me. Made first inlines and spun deer hair for first time.
  17. A couple finished products.
  18. So since im using them for swing jigs, would i want to go with a stouter hook. I ussually fish lighter wire because my main target is river smallmouth with 4lbs being a hog. in the example 7342 is standard wire, 7316 is 1x and 7317 is 3x strong. What would be best choice for this application
  19. Anyone use vmc wide gap work hooks. I was looking on barlows and seems like they are a better price than all the other brands. Im getting into making swing head jigs so id like to get more of a bulk qty than the 4 and 5 packs offered by other companies.
  20. Yes, i am using round ose pliers. I think practice will help considerably for me. I definitely share your creativity. Its impossible for me to stick with a pattern for multiple baits because my mind will go off on tangents and i will end up doing something completely different by 3rd bait. Ill be sure to post as i create more.
  21. This probably has something to do with it as well as i had never bent wire for lures before so i was learning by trial and error
  22. That is what i am thinking i will do next run, just wanted to see if there were any tricks you guys had in the meantime. Tuning some of these will be a pain. Oh well. Live and learn.
  23. I started with a jig, but felt like it was easier after i got going to just use the round nose pliers. I think part of the main issue i have is i feel like the wire has a bend to it from being coiled up and i was wondering how to deal with that/ straighten out the wire before beginning
  24. First spinnerbait almost finished. Just needs blades.
  25. I started making my own wireforms for spinnerbaits but i am running into an issue of the wire not being very straight once molded. It appears they are going to be hard to tune. Issues include the are bend being off alignment, wire out of alignment from hook. A bow in the wire. I am using afw hi seas coiled wire size 15. I will probably order premade forms in future, but for now i want to make this wire work. Suggestions would be appreciated.
