  1. I heard Jordan Lee had a rough day, Sunday. Anybody have any idea of roughly when it happened? 1st period, end of day ... (over 8 hours of coverage, kinda wanted to see it but not watch all 8+ hours)
  2. Saw this today and had a little chuckle
  3. The past few years I have been fishing a lot of isolated targets. My lake has a ton of rock, bluff walls, gravel all the way to boulder size rock transitions Your best bet for catching a fish? find a clay bank with a few scattered rocks or a single laydown. You could fish miles of rocky shoreline without getting bit or by the time you cast to your 4th or 5th isolated rock you'll get a bite. In the middle of the day I'm going to the sunny bank looking for the few isolated targets providing shade, instead of going to the side where every target is in the shade. One of the last MLF/BPT events KVD moved spots with about 5 minutes left. He was just out of the cut line and needed a bass. He turned into a creek arm and fished down the sunnyside. So see, I was able to cherry pick 1 example to prove my genius hahahahaa
  4. Yeah thats awesome!! You seemed to catch on to quite a bit for the first event. Losing baits are part of the game, especially when skipping under docks. Cant wait to hear about the second event!!
  5. If you hold that firecraw til early next spring you could sell it by itself for $70
  6. Kinda looked more like these two Just older and dirtier
  7. hahahahahhaaaa, that is true. Probably why I fit in so well
  8. So just had this weird experience this weekend Sunday morning was super foggy and I'm out at daybreak fishing a point I feel like something is watching me and I look towards shore. About 15 feet in the woods I see this...... A man in overalls with no shirt is standing next to a woman in what looks to be a nightgown. It's like that american gothic painting , except he's got a pitchfork and she's holding like a wooden basket. About 30 minutes later, I see them on the other side of the point and it appeared that they were using the pitchfork to harvest dandelions on TVA property..... ?‍♂️
  9. This is an expected part of smallie fishing IMO. We can do as much as we can to minimize the occurrences but it will still happen. This is what fuels the excitement for the next bite. My dad refers to it as the quick release or no touch release ?
  10. I do a lot of my shopping at the gas station/bait stores down here. Rigsby's Hunting and Fishing and Southern Outdoors in Tazewell have most of what I would need. Never thought I'd stop for gas and come out with a lucky craft pointer, a jackhammer and a spool of Gamma Edge. My wife used to wonder why I spent 30 minutes inside the gas station. It's because they have about a hundred feet of pegboards and both sides are filled with lines, lures, soft plastics and anything else fishing related. One of the many reasons why I love East TN!!
  11. So whats the orange thing at the head? I thought some type of cone would be perfect for my toads My attempts at removing the metal threads from inside a wire nut were not successful I then used these tips from my wifes icing thingamajig and those did not work either. interesting bait he's got for sure, made specifically for the neko rig
  12. Great job on the win and an awesome write up!!
  13. I used to buy these wacky rig baits and they were sold molded like that in 1 piece Eventually you see you have a hundred half pieces of senkos laying in the boat and decide to do this yourself. A piece of plastic is a great weedguard and when you add a screw lock it can be added to anything
  14. Well 2 good events and I'm back to my normal suckiness Basstrack has my guys in 32nd, 59th, 66th, 86th and tied for last Can kiss this score goodbye
  15. seemingly reasonable people ...... I'll be laughing about that for days, thanks People I work with say I just wanna talk fishing or crypto, both alien concepts to them
  16. Too much bloom watching and not enough casting around here
  17. I usually make a plan A box and plan A bag Based on what I believe the fish will be doing at time of year Lots of tourney experience has taught me that I have favorite lures I use for most situations In instances when the favorite lures are not working, more often than not neither did other lures The lack of confidence in the lures that are not my favorites led me to switching back to the lures I did have confidence in. Meaning the switching of lures proved to be a bigger time waster than just grinding it out with my favorites. If you find a group of active fish you will be able to catch them with a variety of techniques and lures. Too often tournament time is wasted with anglers trying to convince themselves an area is as active as we think it should be.
  18. hahahaaha not yet, but did get a fish on a toad last weekend off a floating mass of debris Almost full time topwater for me!!
  19. Looking back the rain is late compared to the last 2 years.
  20. Very awesome but also very sad because the clean ups are annual events.
  21. It's the same chocolate milk here too and Norris is up 8 feet in 4 days. that means everything that was on the bank is a floating lower unit/prop/hull hazard
  22. It's like every other fishing question: sometimes it does, sometimes it does not. At the BFL level, a lot of guys can afford to fish as a boater. Some of these guys would have probably been better off fishing as a co angler first/or longer. Some of the most satisfying days are when you as the co angler outfish the boater. Fishing as a co angler is a specific skill set. Not only do you have to try and figure out the fish, you also have to figure out the best way to fish behind your Pro/Boater. The cream rises to the top saying is very appropriate in tournament fishing. https://www.bassmaster.com/news/co-angler-s-hot-streak
  23. Before I had a garage, I pretty much made a moth ball and gravel parking area. Probably used half a dozen boxes or more. The dogs stopped peeing on the trailer tires too. Probably ruined the environment in the process
  24. Go hard or go home. ? This is one of those chicken or the egg type of things. I'm guessing there were a few issues before the crash
