Lox wild life and Honeyhole.
My uncle and I went to the south end of Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge today even though the temp dropped about 20+ degrees over night into the 40's and bluebird skies. The flats were holding tons of fish but the water level was getting very low making it very difficult to navigate. The average size we caught on the flats was about 1/2 pound, lol. We went back into the main canal to deeper water and did much better but still a lot of dinks. I caught this one on a black/red flake Senko. Here is a shot of the flats. It's very inviting but don't come down of plane unless you don't want to get back up. Here is a local Loxahatchee resident who was not the least bit bashful about saying hello. We packed up at 2:30 and headed to my honey hole where we continued to catch bass up to 2-3 pounds. The fishing was red hot as far as dinks are concerned so I decided to try a little live bluegill action. I spent a solid 1/2 hour trying to catch the bait on bread from my hoagie but the bluegill would look at the bread ball and turn up their nose. My uncle caught 10 bass before I caught my first bait which I finally got to hit on a piece of salami. The gill lasted about 5 minutes before it got slammed. I was fishing it about 20' down using a circle hook and my flipping stick.

Good Day at the Park
Super outing and nice stringer. I know your spot. Not many places in Okeeheelee have houses in the background and green St. Augustine grass on the bank. Don't worry, I won't spill the beans.

Your views on nancy grace?
She is so annoying with the way she talks about people. I may be wrong but wasn't she a suspect in her husband's death or something criminal?

teens kill a heros dog
I hope those punks go to prison for a LONG time and have bubba for a cell mate. Perhaps Marcus will run into to them while hunting when they get out.

Leaning post/chair ?
Can anyone suggest a good leaning post. I don't like to sit and fish but it's hard not to after several hours of standing in the heat. I would rather be able to stand and lean against the seat. I found several on BPS ranging from 50 to over 100 bucks. Oh yea, I'm 6'2 & 225. Thank You.

My tourney results from Gibson Co. Lake in West TN 4-4-09
Sounds like a very tough day of fishing but at least you got your entry fee back.. That sucks that he can catch a 11+ pound bass and only get 2nd place.

second outing, first fish
It's about time you got out of the bedroom and down to the lake. That's a nice bass and I'm sure she would love a pumpkinseed snack ;D. Lets see the boat.

Vertigo
Avid. I have had the vertigo attacks for 9 years now and it altered my life dramatically up to about 2 years ago. My 1st attack put me out like a light. Everything in the room was spinning 1000mph. I broke out in a major sweat and my heart rate dropped to the 30's and I was taken to the hospital by ambulance. I went to a cardiologist, dentist, eye doctor, general medicine doctor, chiropractor, ENT doctor and neurologist. None of them could help me and it took about 1 month before the dizzy spells went away and I could return to work. 2nd episode happened happened about 4 years later ad was a bit more intense. Same side affects, just more intense. This time my girlfriend , now wife, drove me 300 miles to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. They did all kind of tests and rang up a 10K medical bill since they were out of my insurance network. Guess what? They cured absolutely nothing. They did however explain what was happening and why. 3rd episode happened about 2.5 years ago. I spent 2 days in the hospital. Oddly, my wife was having her tonsils removed and mentioned my condition to her doctor. He examined me and performed this head/tilt procedure which fixed me right up. I darn near cried from relief and told the doctor I owed him more than I could ever give. The dizziness I had was so intense that I told the medics during the 3rd episode that I was "checking out of this life and to take care." I actually thought I was going to die. They were feeding me nitroglycerin and all kinds of other crap. Supposedly, according to my Doctor, these episodes will occur more frequently as the years pass and each episode is usually more intense than the last. I stopped traveling to places that were more than 5 minutes from the nearest Fire Rescue Station and I would plan my routes around town that would take me past the most rescue stations because I was so afraid of getting these spells and not having medical tre3atment nearby. I stopped fishing by myself and basically stayed in doors because I was afraid of having an attack in public. I finally overcame my fear (somewhat) of being alone or going to places where medical treatment is far away but I'll NEVER forget what it felt like to have one of those episodes. I still anticipate my next episode to happen any moment though. You're not alone and if there is ANYTHING I can do to help then by all means please let me know. Take care and good luck, Doug.

Cashed in my tourney toady.
Hey Glades. Yes, Lake Osborne but we headed north to lake Clarke. The fish were biting but lots of SMALL ones. The bite was actually more like a nibble. The fish would barley, and I mean barely hit so you had to fish painfully slow.

Advice for this time of year in FL????
The moon phase or weather has done something to the fish this past week. I suggest downsizing and fish very slow.

Cashed in my tourney toady.
My uncle is visiting from Las Vegas so he accompanied me in my tournament today. The turnout was horrible with only 17 boats participating. Take off was about 6:45am and weigh in was at 2. Everything was going fine up until about 7:15 when my TM stopped working. Luckily, the wind was blowing in such a direction that we were able to drift about 20 feet off the bank and straight down the shore. We pretty much fished the lily pads and boat docks. My uncle hooked up using a worm but she came unbuttoned at the boat, 3 pounds easily. I, for some odd reason, decided to throw a senko on my spinning outfit with #8 mono. I went through 1 1/2 bags of black/blue flake and caught a bass on every senko. My biggest was 4.9, which got me so pumped I almost did the Icaneli (sp) dance. I got the TM working about 2 hours later and we ended up finishing 4th with 11.9 pounds of fish. We missed 3rd by 4 ounces and 2nd by less than 1.5 pounds. Part 2. We leave the weigh in at 2:30 and go to Subway for a quick bite and then head out to my honey hole where we launched at about 3:30. We fished until dark and stopped counting after about 50 bass. Here's a pic of my uncle with a decent one.
