  1. If there is one thing I seriously like about saltwater fishing is you never know what your going to catch, even when your targeting a specific species. There is an eel about 4-5' long that has made a particular bridge I snook fish from his home. It's like pulling in a tire, awesomely strong creatures. We'll have to take my bass boat out and fish some local docks as soon as the yachts vacate for the summer. BIG snook.
  2. Those Bonita will wear your donkey out, especially in lite tackle. Did you keep the AJ's?
  3. Are you referring to the minnow? ;D ;D ;D Yea, it's there.
  4. A horse walks in to a bar and asks for a beer. The bartender asks "why the long face." ;D
  5. A large live bluegill. That should pretty much do the trick.
  6. This guy sits at the bar and notices the man next to him has a huge lighter. The guy asks "what's with the big lighter?" The man replies "I got it from a genie but you only get one wish. Would you like to try?" The guy says "sure." The man hands the guy the genie bottle. The guy rubs it and out pops the genie. The genie grants the guy one wish. The guy asks for a million bucks. About a minute later a million ducks come marching into the bar. The guy says to the man "Hey, I didn't ask for a million ducks." The man replies "And do you think I asked for a 12 inch Bick?"
  7. Bottle of WATER. Why do people pay $1.50 for a 12 oz bottle of water is beyond me (even though I do it everyday). $1.25 for a regular size Milky Way. Cell Phone taxes/surcharges. Fricking SCAM. Alcohol by the glass. Example: 6oz Filet Mignon, Maryland crab cake, garlic mashed potatoes, bread and glass of water = $19.00 Wife gets 2 glasses of wine= $17. Same brand at grocery store by the bottle is $10. Greeting cards. Why buy them? The receiver reads them for about 20 seconds and in the garbage they go. Great wast of 3 bucks average. I WILL pay top dollar for toilet paper though. Property taxes. Sales tax on the same item. Example: I buy a car and pay sales tax. I sell the car to you and you pay sales tax on it. You sell it to a friend and he pays sales tax on it. Ridiculous. Oh yea, these ATM charges are gtting out of control too. $3 fricking charge to take out 20 bucks.
  8. Many hospitals, schools and businesses use Dell. I have a Toughbook that is solid as a rock. Dropped it off roof of car doing 25mph. No probs but very heavy.
  9. Or hold rod ,near the reel seat, up to your mouth and quietly whisper "you are the ugliest rod on the rack. No one will ever buy you. You couldn't catch a cold." If rod doesn't cry then it's not sensitive enough.
  10. Bring your reel to the store and put it on the rod you want. Thread your line through all guides. Unfold a dollar bill and poke a hole in one end. Tie dollar bill to end of line. Hold the rod like you normally do and have someone gently/lightly flick the end of the dollar bill. Can you feel the vibration?
  11. I haven't been since I posted this. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1239634801
  12. Nice Cuda. Good eating too.
  13. I took my son out this evening for a little action even though the wind was howling pretty good. I know this lake, actually pond, holds some big fish and time was limited so I decided to use bluegill for bait. I figured this would significantly increase our odds at catching some nice fish versus using artificial. My son, at first, didn't want to use the gills and opted to stick with soft plastics. "BIG MISTAKE" I said to him but he's his own person so I let him use what he wants. The first gill produced this decent bass. My scale is lost somewhere in the boat but I'm guessing a solid 6. My son said to me, before I could even release her, "will you rig me up one of the baits?" I handed him my rod and a lively little gill. He caught this one about 20 minutes later which I think is bigger than mine but the picture I took doesn't show it. Me My son and his first bass over 4 pounds.
  14. Very nice but did you forget your ? I don't know about 1-4 though. Just the thought of fishing from 1-4 makes me sweat, especially starting next month.
  15. My brother n law comes home next week from Iraq also. He'll be here for 15 days and back. I wonder if ya'll kn ow each other or will be flying together.
  16. Well hurry up and get back then. Drive carefully, or should I say fly.
  17. It's apparent you have not been around long enough to experience the differences between good, higher end quality rods, reels, line and tackle based on your lack of knowledge of what was available "BACK THEN." No one is saying you won't or can't catch fish on less expensive, lower quality rods. Yes, I can go out and fish with a snoopy rod and reel or wal-mart special and more than likely limit out for the day, but I can guarantee you I would have caught more if I was using a better quality, MORE SENSITIVE rod.
  18. Tracker boats are historically good boats. Have one now and had one in the mid 80's.
  19. The Sting The Blues Brothers The Wizard of Oz Can't really pick the best 3 though. Would be much easier if they were broken down in Comedy, Action, Drama and western.
  20. The Devil and Mrs. Jones. Debbie Does Dallas. Shane.
  21. What if I'm already very good? Well I now be excellent. Or will I just be better at being good.. :
  22. Try this with your $20 wal mart rod. Cast out a worm about 50 feet. let it sink to the bottom and take in all slack. Now, strip of 5 feet of line so your line is very slack. Do you think you will feel the slightest little bump/tick? I didn't think so but I can. That's why I use Loomis. I also want the lightest gear/combo I can possibly afford. When you fish/ flip 20 hours a week, the last thing you want is a 2 pound rod and reel. Here's another way of looking at it. I can pick up girls being unshaven and wearing holy shorts and a stained t-shirt but I'd feel much better doing it in nice designer clothes. If you have the money then go big.
