  1. I tried these years ago. The ones I got in size 1 and 2 pulled open really easily. Only use them with 4lb line now for ultralight fishing
  2. I think lots of people use too heavy of gear with Ned rigs, what are you using? Too hard of hook set can also cause those small hooks to not get set well. Just a pull up and start reeling gets the best hook set. I use both Neds and tubes and rarely loose fish with either.
  3. That site is difficult to get around on. I tried looking up Steez gears a while back, and could find any gears for any Daiwa reels on there.
  4. Daiwa ships parts direct. A few times I tried to order small parts, and they sent them to me for free. Excellent customer service.
  5. Cashion rods are ok, but feel clunky compared to Expride rods. Why not just get an Expride?
  6. G Loomis 843 mbr in what ever series you can afford. Can do all that and more 30lb braid to 12-17lb leader, depending on what you’re doing
  7. Scum Frogs and Pad Crashers. I haven't noticed any difference in the newer ones at all.
  8. I've done it before, but with an Owner CPS hook that was much smaller, and a 1/16oz pegged sinker. It worked well, but I don't use it much. Couldn't get more than two fish per use though.
  9. The answer seems to be, throw what ever you have and it will work!
  10. The Bite Me brand stupid tube heads are killer in 4/0 for 4" tubes.
  11. Looks like to stripped the threads, and the that's why your handle is getting loose.
  12. I agree the Sleeper Gill get REALLY hard hits.
  13. I throw that stuff on my GLX 852 JWR. Love it.
  14. I switched over to Dark Sleeper's and the issue went away. Been nailing some giants! I gave the Sleeper Gill to my friend, and he seemed to bo good with hooking up, he lost a few SMB but that's always going to happen.
  15. Tried it the other day. I was killing with a mini swimjig, so I tried a Sleeper Gill, it got some good hits, but man the hook up ratio is terrible. I missed two nice smallies. Caught one 21”. Went back to the swimjig and kept catching. anyone have any issues with it?
  16. 8lb on spinning reels is great. I have excellent experiences with original PP, Sufix 832, and Daiwa j braid grand. they all have slightly different characteristics, but all are great line.
  17. It’s the best! Do it. I’d start with 30 or 40lb braid for ease of use. Sufix 832 is a great line that’s very forgiving.
  18. 4" or 5" BPS Stik-O
  19. Nope, every inexpensive anything in regards to rods and reels aren’t fun to fish with, and more importantly fall apart. For me it’s a total waste of money.
  20. My favorite swim jig rod is a Loomis 844 MBR. That's a heavy power, fast action rod.
  21. I always use white or chartreuse painted blades in really stained water. It about doubles my strikes.
  22. SMB-Loomis IMX 843, Zillion sv 7speed, Stealth Jackhammer 23” LMB-Zodias 6’9” ml , Tatula 3000LT, Neko BPS stick worm 23 3/4”

S Waver 168 is my most successful of the three I have used. Trying the Chad Shad this year
  24. With the Zillion I keep the dial around 8 or 9 for skipping, and that works great for me. With the Tatula Sv tw I tend to set more around 13-14 for some reason. I do have an easy time skipping with the Zillion though.
  25. This Zillion is an amazing reel. You could use a few!
