  1. My initial feeling was I don't see any other companies raising prices at this rate. It just raised my hackles a little bit. It's all good. ?
  2. Cool. If every smaller rod company raises prices at the same percentage, then it will be reason enough for me to know it's bigger than one company. Like I said, I never insinuated anything about why they raised prices, I only stated it. Please don't put words in my mouth. Do you think equating kistler to Lamborghini is a very good analogy? I'm not sure any rich old guys are buying kistler rods to get younger women. Maybe they are, who knows. Also, as a customer, we are all free to purchase whatever we want to purchase. I don't want to argue with anyone.
  3. Whatever. What are you his lawyer. You like the price hike, buy them. I never accused anyone of Nefarious doings.Nefarious doings.
  4. I agree these aren’t normal market times. I don’t operate a small business. I am curious to see if any other small rod company like ALX, Ark,cashion, Phenix, Powell will raise their prices this much? Example: raise a $200 rod to a $300 price, or a $300 to a $400 rod? My point is Kistler seems to be raising prices at a very high rate.
  5. I did check them. A set Titanium frame and torzite for a 7' rod costs $93 at Mudhole. I would guess a rod company gets them cheaper. My point is if any company raised their prices this much ($100) in about one years time it would seem wrong to me.
  6. I think the plan is you get store credit when you submit reports. I think there’s a video on their site explaining it. they ship so fast it’s surprising. Great store
  7. Unless people realize it’s not worth it, and stop buying. These rods just seem like such a rip off. if any other rod company raised their prices on a line of rods $100 in around a year it would be just as ridiculous to me.
  8. So if the blanks are the same in the Helium and Z-Bone line, but the guides are the only difference the Z-Bone is $150 more? I know the guides cost more, but come on. Totally what is so bogus about it.
  9. Yeah, jt all seems like busy work right? "Keep looking for a my big sale." But raising the prices this much kind of makes the sales a moot point.
  10. I don't think the blanks are USA made either, but the company seems to be avoiding saying who or where the blanks are manufactured. Why? Who knows. If they are being made in China they might not want to advertise that. Even though Exprides, and Zodias rods are made in China, they are beautiful rods. Kistler seems to have a weird vibe.
  11. What is going on with them? That's a $100 price increase in about a years time isn't it? https://kistlerrods.com/products/helium-fishing-rod?variant=29630927175728
  12. Hello i have a Daiwa Tatula SV tw 2017 reel I’m thinking of putting a Ray’s spool into. Has anyone used one in a Tatula Sv?
  13. I think you have a rage problem
  14. Does anyone have good luck with these big swim baits? I started last season in august, and had great success. No fish over 3.5lbs, but plenty of 2lbers. I’m ready to try them prespawn this year.
  15. What's that? ? Power Grip II? Got a link?
  16. From Loomis' descriptions, the MBR stands for Mag Bass Rod, they were designed to be jig and plastics rod. However because of the taper Loomis uses, they have become favorites for lots of people for many presentations. As I stated above, there are plenty of uses for them that they are excellent for.
  17. Dobyns 705c is definitely not a pool cue. They have quite a bit of flex. I have an older IMX and GLX 844c and a Champion 705c. The 705 is not as stiff as either of the Loomis 844c rods. The 705 has a slower taper and is quite a nice rod, just different.
  18. Cabela's has Seaguar Red Label 50% off.
  19. If you are referring to the G Loomis MBR, their design originally was to be a jig and t rig rod. They have a fast action, but not too fast, and a lot of backbone. The taper of these rods are really great for lots of presentations. I disagree with what was said above, they are not extra fast actions that are just more durable. I have a bunch of G Loomis MBR rods, and a bunch of their JWR rods. Things the Loomis MBR rods excel at are jigs, t-rigs, spinner baits, chatter baits, swim jigs, spooks, and belly weighted swimbaits in the 3 and 4 power, and in the 2 power jerk baits, open hook jig/grub, poppers, small cranks, and small swimbaits/underspins. I can only respond to what G Loomis MBR rods are like, not what some other companies call MBR. I've tried lots of other rods over the years, and still find them the most useful rods around. Dobyns, have a slightly slower action in what they call a fast, I also really like them too.
  20. I’d recommend a G Loomis IMX-Pro 852 JWR. It’s perfect for light t rigs.
  21. Hello what is everyone’s favorite Wire gauge for tying jigs?
  22. I wade the small creeks that feed it, and have caught plenty of 17"-19" smallies. Some nice 50 fish days too.
