  1. Trapping bait out of a pond to me seems wrong but to each their own assuming it's legal.
  2. I normally take 5-8 rods with me but not very many baits. If I break off or if somethings not working I just grab a different rod. I just take a smallish bag with me that holds my pliers, scale, etc. and toss some baits in. I mostly fish a couple small local lakes no longer than half of a day so I can get away with this method. If I tried a different lake that required a decent amount of travel I'd have to pack a bunch more stuff.
  3. I put "worth" in quotes because it's relative to the individual. But there are certain expensive baits that for the most part, people agree they are worth it. Vision 110's and Jack Hammers come to my mind. This question popped in my head the other day when I ran across the Megabass Knuckle. It's a squarebill that costs $20. I have several of the KVD's that only run $10 and I got to wondering if the extra money really made any difference. What are some other expensive baits that you think are "worth" it?
  4. You want braid for jerkbaits? And high viz? I feel like I'm confused or I'm missing something. Are you also using a leader???
  5. I totally agree. Seems steep even though I keep buying them. It's a freaking jig with a small blade on it. I get the Dirty Jigs now.
  6. Well whatever method you do just be safe. My in-laws know a guy that drowned a couple of weeks ago on the river. Nobody witnessed the event but they THINK he went into the water at the ramp to maybe get his boat and drowned. They are thinking this because it looked like he emptied his pockets before he entered the water.
  7. Oh jeepers. I've lost a few Vision 110's. Several Jack Hammers. A Shower Blows. A Magdraft. All this year.
  8. Ok what’s going on with that 18” worm? I’m assuming you aren’t fishing that like a “normal” plastic worm???
  9. Well haven’t been on here in over a week as I’ve been “busy” on vacation. Lol Anyways, been fishing a bunch and USPS just dropped this stuff off today.
  10. Would you have frogs migrating now? I'm going to buy some Scooper Frogs, I bet they would work great there.
  11. Funny you mention that. I read a story just yesterday from a pro and he said his PB was dang near a cast length from the boat ramp. I'm guessing bass are like deer. They like to go places where they don't get MESSED WITH.
  12. I think anyone that's fished a Ned would share the same thoughts. For some reason, that thing works. Dummy me I think it's boring and haven't thrown it all year. Heck not sure if I did last year either.
  13. Thanks all for reading my dumb story. I almost wished I didn't see it. Almost. A few weeks ago I didn't even think a 6 lb bass would be in this lake. However, I was scrolling through Instagram (that I rarely do) and stumbled upon a kid I know holding a big bass. I'm almost positive it's the small lake I fish. We are talking 20 acres. Even on the same side which I RARELY fish because that whole side is pretty shallow. I always fish the opposite side near the dam. The photo I'm guessing is at least 5 years old. Carp or bass, I'm sure as chit going to give this side a try. Might break out some bigger lures. IDK, will be a huge waste of time if it was a Cyprinus Carpio.
  14. Great, something else I want. I like the Grand Shad myself, looks more like a bluegill.
  15. After a couple jerks I fell in love with the Shower Blows. I can't say it's a staple as I throw the PopMax more. Both are top notch and super fun to work.
  16. Not sure if carp swim like bass, but I found a video that reminds me of last night.
  17. Went fishing last night. Caught a ton. Nothing big, some decent ones though. Fishing well into the evening and was near a lighted area near a beach. For some reason I glance down into the water and see a fish swim directly under my kayak. I was sitting in maybe 2 foot of water at the time. It had to be 6 or 7 pounds. That's BIG for this guy. My jaw hit the water and stayed there for 10 minutes. Here's the deal. It happened so fast I'm not 100% sure if it was a bass or maybe a carp. I'm pretty sure it was a bass. All I know is that it's driving me crazy not knowing. I'm going to search for videos of hopefully both swimming, preferably from an above angle. Sorry, it's a dumb post. I clearly need therapy.
  18. How deep of water are we talking about? If it's only a foot or so just get a cheap pair of rubber boots to slip on and off. I kayak and that's what I do but I end up fishing in them. Allows me to launch easier and stay dry.
  19. Weird how life works sometimes. They don't say "When it rains it pours" for no reason. Here's to a better November.
  20. One thing I forgot to ask, do they produce a tighter wobble? I'm mostly wondering if they would excel in cooler water.
  21. I see the term thrown around. Anyone fish a crankbait with one of these? What's the point? Are they super fragile??
  22. I almost just threw up in my mouth. Do you put the poles away to pick up a weapon? Done fishing????
  23. Yikes, that has to be frustrating. I don't even think I'd want a replacement. I'd just want my money back. Good luck with the process.
  24. Interesting. Do you mind sharing your reasoning. Thanks
