  1. That thing is pretty. I did a little Google search as I was curious WHY they "created" the Tiger Musky. In case some others weren't aware either, I'll share. The Tiger cannot reproduce, it is sterile. So you can put it in a lake to control other species and not worry about it also taking over. Learn something every day.
  2. Ummmmm what? I’m all over that. Hook Up Tackle?
  3. I've already warned my wife I might be spending some money in the next week or so.
  4. Yeah it’s weird. When I was younger I would go fishing by myself all of the time. Now I’m still by myself but it’s just harder to go. I LOVE fishing, but for some reason it’s hard to go. I’m sure it’s hard for most to understand, heck I don’t even. Whenever I do get out on the water I always tell myself “I’m sure glad I went fishing”. I think it would be a lot easier getting out if I had a fishing buddy. I even thought about getting a dog to go with me.
  5. So I sort of have a cool story, at least I think it's cool. I have a client (also from Iowa), and every summer he goes on a moose research outing. I'm pretty sure it revolves around the moose and wolf populations. I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly, it's actually on an island.
  6. You see advertisements all the time for them. I'm a "PRO" subscriber to Omnia and that comes with an app. How the heck do fishing apps know what the water temp and clarity are for example?
  7. Thanks. Might have to buy a few if Black Friday throws me a deal.
  8. I've wondered that myself. Do you have any Rock Crawlers? I'm wondering how they perform over others.
  9. I bought some DT's, flatsided, and Shad Raps recently to try out this fall/winter. Won't be throwing the XD's. Hopefully I can get out on the water soon and test them out.
  10. What do you throw on it? I have a few P5 baitcasters but no spinning.
  11. I've got an 8 footer for deep cranks. My kayak is a sit on top, but doesn't have a high seat like some people do. You have to make sure on a cast the lure doesn't hit the water behind you or you will get a birds nest. 7'4" isn't an issue unless you want precision casting.
  12. Well I didn't go. I got the idea to go Thursday at work but I wasn't thinking the best because it was my son's birthday. So most of the evening was spent going out to eat, etc. There just wasn't enough time to pack and get things ready. Friday I organized like crazy so that will help future outings. Then the weekend was spent mostly watching sports because I'm very close to having a gambling addiction. No I'm not kidding. But good news, I closed all of my betting accounts and deleted the apps. I'm mad at myself for sports betting over fishing. I made money, but I'm still disappointed. I have the whole week off next week. If the weather is decent I'M GOING!
  13. Just don't feed it after midnight.
  14. Late notice but I just took tomorrow off. It's going to be 67 degrees so it needed to be done. Heading to a new lake. It's not a very well known lake that has some pretty big fish in it I guess. Going to be about a 2 hour drive. I'll be 100% honest, it's a little out of my comfort zone. Yes, sounds embarrassing. I mostly fish a couple of small local lakes. They require short drives and I know the areas well. I pack a very small amount of food, and a small amount of tackle. I figure I'll fish as long as I can which means packing will be different. More food, more fishing gear, more everything. I printed off the map, not sure if that will really help as I don't have electronics. But it should give me a rough idea. I'm not sure what the word is. I'm not scared. I guess the better word is I'm uncomfortable. It's just something I've never done. The water itself isn't very intimidating, it's roughly 150 acres. It's just the whole thing. Apparently I'm a creature of habit. SMH Anyways, what do you guys do when you head to a new lake? Any thoughts or suggestions for a guy that clearly lives (fishes) in a small bubble? LOL THANKS!
  15. That's pretty neat. I had to just Google it, apparently the only native trout in Iowa is the Brook. There's only ONE place here that has the native strain and is reproducing naturally. Hopefully that place never gets "touched" by us dumb humans.
  16. Is that a popper? Or a walking bait? Pretty cool color pattern. What brand/model is it? Thanks
  17. Sorry if it's a dumb question, but are those wild?
  18. When I retire I might try ice fishing. I've only gone like three times and walked away empty handed all times. That or I'll get back into hunting.
  19. I've definitely heard of guys with doctored up boards, yes. I can't imagine what would drive a man to cheat in FISHING. To me, it all starts with parenting. Yes these are grown bASS men, but I don't think Momma did a good job of teaching wrong from right.
  20. Not gonna lie, had to go back to Full Metal Jacket to translate. LOL
