I've bought some weedless football heads from Boss that I like. They also sell weedless swim jig heads.

Favorite? Has to be topwater. Popper or a walking bait. You get to work the bait and then the topwater explosion NEVER gets old.

I'd just throw this up on the wall. A heck of a lot cheaper and looks the same. $10 at Wal-Mart.

I caught several largemouth on the bait I showed above the first time I threw it. Bass have the same vision they did 40 years ago. "Outdated" colors are perfect because they aren't seeing them all day every day. JMO.

Well it's not a squarebill (my apologies) but this is my favorite firetiger lure I have. I'm pretty sure it's a Japan only color.

There's a good chance I got one last year but didn't have a scale or my measuring board. Someone asks me what my PB is I really don't even have a good answer. I've never weighed a fish until a month ago and some not even measured. Now that I have a scale, I did a "PB Reset" a month ago. It currently sits at 3.4 lb. Have to start somewhere.

Iowa also has a Master Angler award. My goal this year was to get one for a couple of different species but failed. Bluegill and Largemouth I really didn't go after bluegills this year, came close with the bass. Season ain't over yet.

I plan on fishing right up until the point I get extremely busy at work. I've never really serviced any of my reels which I figure that needs to change. IF I don't have the time to really take some of these reels apart, what's the bare minimum? I know I can ship them off and have someone do them but I know it's something I can do and probably enjoy doing it. Thanks

Well, I guess I'd have no reason to not believe the neighbor. Not sure how big the pond is but they might be out farther than your casting distance. Next time you go just throw some small baits. That or maybe talk to some other people that fish there.

Are wolves still a problem? My memory might be off, but I thought several years ago they were reintroduced and deer hunters were not happy about it. Or you couldn't trap them? Like I said, I could be wrong. I'm trying to remember from maybe a decade ago. I just remember deer hunters weren't happy about wolves.

Talk about perfect timing. Bought a few Shad Raps yesterday for cold water. I’m going to put 8 lb mono on either a M or ML spinning rod. I’d rather throw it on the M but the ML combo is much newer/nicer. Hopefully I’ll have to be using the drag and not sure I trust the drag on the M. PS I bought a Shad Rap Elite which appears to be much easier to throw on baitcasting.
