  1. If it was good it wouldn't be 50% off. JMO.
  2. I'm not a "fishologist" but I'm wondering if pulling a fish out of warm water and putting it into much cooler water would do more harm than good. Seems like it could be too much of a shock to their system, to a fish that already is exhausted from getting caught and handled.
  3. Just use a fluke.
  4. I don't put them on in advance, just me. I'll put them on right before I hit the water in the kayak. Call me anal, but to me it seems like many of the soft plastics stay more soft and supple when stored in their original bags. In my pee sized brain, it seems like they can dry out if left out for too long. Disclaimer: I'm an accountant, not a scientist.
  5. First off, dope reel. If you didn't already have the reel I would ask are you really sure you want a BFS combo. I'm no BFS expert but some of the things you are looking to throw, and some of the fish you occasionally catch makes me "worried". But once again, I'm NO expert. I do know we have similar taste, if I ever get into BFS, that's the exact reel I'm looking at.
  6. Would you mind sharing your hand history? Assuming you can type. BTW, fishing for me hasn't been the greatest as I haven't gone out much. There's either been storms, heat, and now a severe algae bloom. Talking like toxic algae. The rest of the week is either heat or storms. I was planning on taking a week off this month to fish. IDK, maybe the last week will be better. Otherwise, October can't get here sooner.
  7. That's what I do as well. I love throwing it into weeds and ripping it. To ME, the swimjig is the most versatile of the three. I've always had amazing success in the dark with it. With a good sized 4" trailer it's a good bait for them to home in on. I've wondered if the stealth (clear) blades would be a more subtle option. Almost like a bladed jig/swimjig combo.
  8. I'm in a kayak so I'm limited to rods I can carry. Most days I have a spinnerbait and a swimjig with me. When (not if) I get my boat, I'm sure I'll have a bladed jig on as well.
  9. I figured they made more noise. To me, a swimjig with a paddletail swimbait just seems like it would give off a more natural vibration/look. But the two main lakes I fish I would consider fairly pressured. They are small, but they get fished a lot. IDK, I have several of them, I just need to try a whole outing with one.
  10. Can we talk about chatterbaits in this thread or no? LOL This year I've by far thrown a swimjig with a swimbait as a trailer. I love it and have had good success. What does a bladed jig do better?
  11. I just bought a larger spool (1,000 yds) myself but it was Tatsu. Not only is it cheaper to buy in bulk, but you also waste A LOT less. I hate buying a 150 yd spool and only using say 120 yds of it. I was a little worried myself about having line for maybe a couple of years but after doing a little looking around the internet it doesn't seem to be an issue. I'd just make sure it's stored in a temperature controlled environment.
  12. I hate to assume, but if you are throwing a glass rod, are you most likely using braid?
  13. I'll take ZERO for $500 Alex.
  14. I've tried getting my wife into fishing but she won't have any part of it. She brings a book and works on her tan. LOL
  15. When you say "H action" do you mean heavy power?
  16. Hard to argue. Unfortunately he's raising his kids the same way. I saw a video the other day where his kid caught a nice fish. His son of course started screaming and JUMPED INTO THE LAKE to celebrate. Ike is an overacting dbag.
  17. Tell me you're single without telling me you're singe. Just kidding. LOL My wife would kill me.
  18. Gotcha, that's what it kinda looked like. Just ordered the Spro sleeves from Omnia. Not sure I want to put a wet one in there right away but they seem like a good way to store dried. Thanks
  19. Do they not technically shut? You just slide it in there and the opening doesn't snap/zip shut?
  20. Blazing hot here in Iowa as well. 7 day forecast doesn't look amazing either. I was hoping for a great September of fishing, might have to wait for October.
  21. I know where there's about 5 or so combos in a lake. Not that deep either, I'd guess 6 foot. Not high end stuff but it would have to be over $1k of gear.
  22. Both of you have mentioned the sleeves. I've never seen those before. Thanks
  23. I prefer my jigs Dirty.
