  1. This. Mine actually says "UHD" on the overlay too.
  2. Pretty much every topic is covered. Unless it's talking about newly released equipment it's been covered. Not starting new topics would grind this forum to a halt.
  3. Same here. I use short leader for tying purposes. When the leader gets too short I cut the remainder off and tie on another one. If it does help catch fish it's an added bonus. Can't say I've noticed a difference though.
  4. Thank you!
  5. Ok, I want to jump on the Siebert train but have a few questions........ Which of the jigs is closest to a pitching jig? What's the difference between the Mata and the standard? What's the G2 style? Which would you consider the most versatile? I pretty much use a pitching jig as my "do it all" jig and a swim jig for, well, swimming a jig.lol The Siebert swim jig I get but for my do it all????
  6. Pitching Jig/Craw trailer Swim Jig/Paddletail Jerkbait
  7. Normally I store the ones I am bringing with me in a Plano box and I haven't had a single problem with the tails. I have some colors/sizes that don't get used much and can spend the entire summer in a Plano box on my kayak and have nto had an issue. Until I put them in the "to go" box I usually keep them in the packaging. I think these all ended up in a Plano box because I was trying to figure out what I had in size and color at the end of last year.
  8. I don't really lose tackle as much as I find it. I tend to keep my extra stuff in the same general area but sometimes come across a box of stuff I forgot about. The other day I came across a double sides Plano loaded with Keitechs and Reaction Innovation stuff.......It was like finding money!
  9. While it depends on the size of your chatterbait, I'd cut it down to 4". I use 3.8" Keitech's on mine.
  10. Pitching jig/craw Swim jig/paddletail
  11. A jig/craw A swim jig or chatterbait or underspin A t-rig
  12. Not from Tackle Direct but I have ordered from places that us USPS that show it's in pre-shipping and it shows up at my door. USPS tracking is far and away the worst.
  13. Agreed! I've found this year that I actually enjoy fishing new water to try and figure it out. Grinding it out can be ALMOST just as fun.
  14. It depends on what's going on. If I'm in a tournament and find keepers I stay until I have my five. Then I start picking spots apart that may have larger so I can cull. If I'm on a spot and catch a couple around the same size that won't cull, I'm out of there. Also when I catch a large bass, knowing it's probably the only large one in the spot, I still cast a few more times just in case! LOL But sometimes when it's been a few slow outings in a row and I want to just catch, catch, catch, I go to a certain couple of places and get my 30-40 12-14" and am happy!
  15. Never leave fish to catch fish. With that being said I generally don't catch my bigger bass in a spot I've been catching smaller bass. I do however catch bigger bass at spots that I've caught smaller bass at a different time. But when I catch a bigger bass there I generally don't catch the smaller ones. LOL
  16. I tend to reel faster than I want. Most of my reels are in the 6:x range because it's easier for me to reel faster when needed than slower when I should.
  17. Today, temp low 90's, water 83. VERY weedy lake, as in limiting what you can use in about 90% of the water. Not a cloud in the sky wind about two mph. Before the sun topped the trees, shallow water, frogs, t-rig, caught a couple. Sun came up, got hot, switched to a swim jig and ripped it around the edges of weeds on the shade side. Caught several more that were hugging both the weeds and the bottom which was anywhere from 8 to 12 feet. I tried a frog in the lily pads but no luck.
  18. I use the Dirty Jigs swim jig a lot.......like every single time I'm out. My favorite method is ripping it through vegetation. I won Big Bass $$ at a tournament last Saturday doing exactly that.
  19. Swim jig, chatterbait, underspin, spinnerbait, crankbaits that run right at the top of the vegetation. My go to is a swim jig or chatterbait depending on the conditions.
  20. What do you consider good bass? Good kayaking lakes? I live 30 minutes outside of Chicago, hardly a mecca of kayak bass fishing. I kayak fish about 5 times a week during the summer. I fish a particular spot that is what I would call medium popular but hear people complain all the time that there are no big bass there. I caught a 97" 5 bass limit there a couple of weeks ago. It doesn't happen often but it's possible. But I've spent several years learning that spot. There are a few other places that I do pretty good at too. The main problem here is a lot of people. Weekends are next to impossible to fish with much success size wise. But if I were moving and wanted better fishing it would be the southeast.
  21. Last summer me and a buddy were fishing a local spot in our kayaks under absolutely perfect conditions. And boy did we struggle. He looked over at me and wondered out loud why we weren't catching any bass.........I told him it was obvious the bass were reading different articles and forums than we were.
  22. Only two? Then it would be two MH/Fast with a 6:xx.1 gear ratio.
  23. I'm also not a fan of the micro guides. I had several AvidX's and have slowly replaced each one. I liked the rod, not the guides. I was also upgrading to a higher end rod so that was part of the switch. I also would not be throwing a buzzbait on a Medium rod. Heck, most of the time I throw buzzbaits on a H/Fast, especially when I'm using a decent sized trailer with it.
  24. I had a Radar 115 and now have a Bonafide SS127. Several in between including an Atak 120 and a Seaghost 130. For me the Bonafide is far and away the best for fishing. Stable, a lot of deck space, far and away the most comfortable seat. I installed a rudder because I put a Bixby motor on it. It also paddles easier than some people claim. Some call it a barge but I have no issues paddling. I always have the seat in the high position which does make me catch some cross winds sometimes when I'm trying to sit in one place but a little practice mitigates that. My second choice is the Radar, not far behind the Bonafide. Next was the Atak, fastest paddling of the bunch but sat too low in the water for my liking. Didn't feel as stable as the SS127 or the Radar. Seaghost 130. Least favorite by far.......not nearly as stable, the center console was too big and just got in the way, very uncomfortable seat. I had to add a cushion to the seat to make it bearable. Rear tank well was too far back from the seat due to the large hatch they installed between the seat and tank well. That made it difficult to reach for rods and into my crate. I literally used this kayak for about six weeks before moving on.
