  1. Its a common issue with braid, some braided lines are better than others when it comes to digging. I have found the thicker and rounder braid is less likely it dig into itself. Also, sometimes you can be the culprit and not know it. For example if you get snagged and tug at your line you should take at least a foot of line off your reel before reeling in again. While you tug it sometimes causes a tight spot so the next time you cast it digs itself in even further at the tight point. Also before an outing I like hook my lure to a stationary object and run about 40-50yards out of my reel. I get a rag that I have soaked in warm water and run the line through it as I reel it in. You can also use KVD line conditioner or line conditioner of choice (note you some line conditioners take up to 24hours to work their magic). As you reel it in don't apply too much pressure though, it needs to be enough so the line lays flat without too much slack on it. I have found that some braids are horrible no matter what you do. I won't mention the names of the bad ones because I am sure some forum members swear by them, but to each his own. I really like Stren's discountinued Superbraid or Daiwa's Samurai.
  2. I like both! I use Gammy's mainly for t-rig applications. really like the EWG superline. I have bent some of the regular EWGs when I hung up, but never on a fish, if you have then maybe your drag is too tight. The Owner beast series us absolutely awesome for swimbaits.
  3. I love my Dobyn's Swimbait Rod! Don't really know about the Falcon's though.
  4. Ummmm, I have kept a custom G. Loomis 6' in my vehicles well over 5 years now in the S. Florida Sun, never know when a fishing chance will occur. ZERO ISSUES WITH THE ROD, and it gets HOT down here. Now the line is different case all together, so I keep braid on the reel. Over the years I have landed anything from bass to peacocks to snook, without an issue. Now my other rods I keep in pool house, cause they are spoiled , but if you don't have a good reason to leave the rods in your vehicle why take the chance.
  5. I just went through the same dilemma recently. After all my research I replaced the prop on my 9.9 Evinrude with another original factory prop. I remember reading that the whole SS vs. Aluminum flex issue is not a factor and the article was pretty convincing. It stated that the reason Alum. is inferior to SS is not due to flex, blade edge thickness in alum. plays a larger role. As far as a 9.9 if you want a quicker hole shot go with a 4 blade, more top end go 3 blade. Save your money though and go aluminum. Michigan Prop and Solas are great aftermarket props, you should be able to find a great deal on Ebay.
  6. This is a known scam that ran through Craigslist.
  7. I am a NATIVE FLORIDIAN, born and raised in West Palm Beach. Post quite often, but not as often as some of my home bound northern brethren. Fish about 2-5x week for bass, peacock, snook, tarpon, or anything swims in the water around here. Bass is my favorite because all I have to do is walk out into the backyard , 24/7 365!
  8. I was going to stop watching after the credits, but I am glad I didn't, ;D!

  10. Exercise has various definitions, but assuming you mean "bodily exertion for the sake of developing and maintaining physical fitness" as defined by Merriam's online dictionary. I would say it depends on your fishing circumstances. Let's say your are fishing a golf course where the ponds are spread out and you have to walk to the next hole and you're fishing fast, then yes it can be considered exercise. On the other hand let's assume you are fishing for bass using live shiners and just sitting in your chair as you wait for old bucketmouth to strike, then no its not.
  11. I really like: http://www.wunderground.com/ It has a feature where you can track barometric pressure, wind direction/speed, rainfall, etc. over a specific period of time.
  12. Should have no problems, but I would put a tranny cooler if you are going over 100 miles on it regularly. My neighbor tows a 22' open fisherman with one. His Cherokee looks like an early 2000 model.
  13. SHI...MANO, SHI...MANO, SHI.MANO!
  14. Topic: Quick Silver and Merc are one in the same! Are all oils the same, no. Go to Amsoil website and check out their independent studies. Does anyone here use Amsoil or Royal Purple?
  15. I have a floater version of the Hardgill and have caught a 1lber, a couple of 3lbers and one approaching 5lbs. I don't throw it as much as a should, but I can attest to the fact that it does have an incredible life like action. So, those of you who are wary of throwing it because its too big don't worry bass are more than aggressive enough to have a go at one! I can't wait to try it on some SNOOK!
  16. In my opinion KB has surpassed MJ as the greatest player of NBA history, especially with the game high point total this year and the championship against the Magic, but I lost total respect for the man when he settled with the prosecutor by apologizing to his "alleged" rape victim >. Even if the woman was of questionable morals and just wanted to be in the limelight, his adultery has tainted his character. Its a shame we live in a society that so quickly forgets :'(. Nevertheless, he is the greatest basketball player.
  17. I hate plastic plants man, good job with the aquarium. What type of lighting are you using (type, watts, and spectrum)?
  18. With one more tournament to go it seems like Evergreen (B. Smith) from the forum is far ahead of the Bassmaster Fantasy Fishing League! Overall B. Smith is 170th place for the whole of the Fantasy Fishing Game. I'd like to congratulate B. Smith for a great season. Its a tight race for 2nd, less than a 100 points difference exist between 2nd and 6th place. Only the Champion's Choice at Oneida Lake remains. Good luck to all. 19. If you are a realist, then let us limit the boats to the average boat most bass fisherman have, with only 3 or 4 rods on board, and low tech or no electronics! Come on man, who the heck wants to watch people ZERO in a televised Tournament, we want to see them hit home runs and keep us dreaming about fishing those bodies of waters.
  20. Wright and McGill? I thought they only made Sissy Fishing Rods....sorry Fly Fishing Rods? I guess it doesn't matter if you are Skeet Reese he can outfish most people with an broom stick and a yo yo attached to the end of it!
  21. I don't think anyone mentioned WATER PRESSURE, its very important to keep on eye on it when trimmed out, you'll notice that sometimes during turns you lose too much and if you have a long sweeping turn then you can blow your engine........
  22. Cool, man! Glad you stuck some PIGS! You are one DEDICATED ANGLER!
  23. Awesome! I bought a smoker about 5 months ago and love it. I have been experimenting a bit and so far so good.
  24. I play COD on my Xbox360 and love it, my neighbor's son has a PS3 and I can't notice the difference, but I can say hands down if I were to buy a console today, it would be a PS3 hands down. It doubles as a Blue Ray player and the PS3 specific games BLOW away anything on the dated XBOX360 platform. I like the Netflix option on the Xbox though and some of the online content.
  25. I am sure there are good people in Detroit.
