Night Time Magic
I'll assume you can't say the name, cause you haven't named it, correct? Will you be at Icast showing it off? Let me take a crack at it though...... "The New Rage Tail Nightcrawler" or how about "The Rage Tail Snake" Nice fish by the way, short relatively short for its size and FAT!

Can my Geenoe + Trolling Motor go on Stickmarsh/Farm 13??
Yes, do your weather homework, I have taken my 14' Jon Boat with a 9.9HP Kicker and a 36lb trolling motor. I went all the way to the "back lot" and made a day of it and only bumped into a gator approaching the length and width of my Jon boat with my trolling motor, needles to say it was a tense few minutes as its wake rocked the boat. Why don't you try and reserve Lake Goodwin which is right there where Stick Marsh is? It would be perfect for your little setup and you should tear them up. A ten pounder or better is always possible there, and it gets much less pressure than the Marsh. Send me a PM and I will give you the details.

Your Pics of 10+ pounders
Didn't a big fish post come up before? Here is a 10-2 caught a couple a summer's ago after the spawn! She hit a June Bug 8" Senko! I only wish I had a shot at her before the spawn.

Pre Storm Outing
Anyone that has a permit, Florida Fish and Wildlife Field office is located on premise and they have asked me for my permit number a couple of times. Also, when it floods or fire is close by, they shut down access. Its also catch and release only, so no meat catchers , unless your fishing for panfish.

when fishing is SLOW....we resorted to catching this nasty thing......
Plecostomus, are awesome fish in the aquarium, but are considered an invasive species. The Feds and some Fish and Wildlife Commissions are considering a ban on the import of all Plecos. Florida is full of them and they are notorious for eroding canal banks, because they make tunnels into the banks compromising the embankment. I actually humanely KILL each and everyone I catch, unless someone wants it for their aquarium. Nevertheless, I still think they are cool fish especially the gold nugget and zebra pleco, they are much cooler looking than your average pleco.

Pre Storm Outing
My buddy Al, was able to get a permit to fish Lake Goodwin so I jumped at the chance. I have been there twice this year and slayed them with my neighbor, catching 32 and 40 on the outings. Anyway, we ended up going out yesterday, Thursday, and had to get off the water a bit early due to thunderstorms, but I was able to land a 6lb 2oz BERTHA, look how long she is, could have easily gone 7 1/2 during spawning. She hit a Strike King Sexy Shad colored Red Eye Shad, I barely made two cranks of the reel handle before she hit it. At first I thought I had a bowfin on by the way she was fighting until she reared her fat head near the surface. She made two strong runs and made my buddy look like a patsy since he was too scared to land her, so I had to lip her treble hooked infested mouth carefully. We only ended up catching 12 total with most in the 2 to 4lb range, nevertheless we had a great time!

Gators
Amazing story! I have seen plenty of gators, and have had them chase my top water lures, but never had one actually snag a fish from me. Although, I am sure they would if they had a chance!

Heads Up (Swimbaiters)
Come on guys, don't flame the dude, he's a new board member! Anyway, I can attest to the detail and craftsmanship to Matt Lures and until see one and use one yourself, pictures are only that, pictures. It may not be worth it to you, but some of us lure junkies will gladly pay that and dare I say more.

baitcaster vote, daiwa tierra or shimano citica 200e
Cabela's Prodigy Baitcaster is made by Daiwa and is basically the Tierra for less money. If it were me I would go Shimano Citica, but Daiwa isn't bad either.

Anyone else LOVE Berkley baits?
NO, x2 I have fished side by side with other baits, from Snook, Bass, Tarpon, and Bluegill. Guess what.......! I have not run across a scenario where I can say that Berkley outperformed like baits. I can also attest to the fact the unlike their add suggest, it doesn't not outperform live bait. On the contrary I fished their Peeler Crab cause we only had a few dead crabs on the boat while Tarpon fishing. We had two rods out one with crab and one with peeler, worked exactly in the same manner, guess what it didn't even come close. Yes, its only one instance, but it didn't "Out Catch Live Bait." Berkley baits are also significantly more expensive the others, so I would expect them to catch more fish. They have an awesome R&D that cost big $$$, guess who pays for it...? Berkley also has some awesome advertising campaigns, guess who pays for it? Nevertheless, many pros and amateur fisherman swear by them and confidence in your lure is more important than anything else so to each his own, but IMO save your money find a less expensive alternative and upgrade other more important tackle like hooks, rods, reels, and line, where a difference can be achieved when it comes to fish catching performance.

New Boat, Need batteries.
What's your budget? There are three primary types of batteries 1. Wet Cell 2. Gel Cell 3. Absorbed Glass Mats Each have certain advantages, with wet cell's being the least expensive. If I were you I would go with Walmart' Everstart in 27 or 29 series. For the money they are great and with proper care, charging, and draining they should last you at least 2-3 years, depending on usage. Gel and AGM batteries are great, but significantly more expensive and in my opinion not worth the money.

will i look like a nut in a duck boat?
Take advantage of having that DUCK boat, you can get into spots that regular boats can't go. I own a fancy bass/flats boat, but I still tear more bass up from my camo jon boat that I also use as my duck boat. So to hell with looking like a nut!

How Big is this Bass?
5 to 6lbs at max Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, if you like your mount than great.

New impeller for my 25hp outboard ???
Chris, I basically did the same thing you are about to attempt. My impeller has not been changed for about the same amount of time so I ordered the "water pump kit" for my engine that includes the housing, impeller, seals, and bolts. Anyway long story short, my SS bolts broke inside the exhaust housing when taking them out. According to Catt and my father, engineer, the galvanic corrosion can and will cause the bolts to weaken so be very careful, when removing exhaust housing from gearcase, other than that everything else was easy. I figure it would have taken me 60-90 minutes, including draining lower unit and replacing lower unit oil, changing plugs, and greasing lubrication points. I am no mechanic or engineer, but with the service manual close by I can manage, unless of course I hit a snag. Check out my post on small job turns into nightmare.

Stick Marsh/Farm 13
I went to Goodwin last week and stopped by to look at the Stick Marsh Launch and was amazed how low it is.

Small Project turns into NIGHTMARE!
I have a jon boat that I fish out of 90% of the time, so I decide to give my little 9.9 Evinrude outboard a little TLC so I ordered a water pump kit, new plugs, and bought a prop from craigslist. Long story short, as I am taking bolts out that join the gear case to the exhaust housing two bolts break halfway out. Needless to say it freaking took me just about all day trying to carefully take out what was left of the bolts in the exhaust housing without screwing the threads up. Also, to add insult to injury I had to order the bolts from Evinrude cause no local marina's carry them > Called my dad, genius engineer, and he basically said that I was a dumb a-- since I put to much pressure on the bolts, said I had to be more careful. I think he is full of BS since the darn bolts were halfway out. Anyone here have a bolt break as you were loosening it halfway out? I can understand at first when max pressure is applied to break it free, but halfway out...come on

Would you buy a Chrysler or GM product
No, I wouldn't currently buy any American made vehicle, not even a Ford.

How well do bass see braid?
I use braid all just about all my setups, other than my frog rod, all have a flouro leader. I think it makes a difference, can I prove it with bass NO! Nevertheless, I can tell you that if you go snook fishing with braided line without a flouro or mono leader you chances of catching one are rare.... very rare, regardless of water clarity or depth.

What baitcaster should I buy?
