  1. Man, you have to come down to South FL and show me how I can easily do that. I went out Monday with a buddy of mine and caught 40 bass combined from 1 to 5 lbs and we were pretty happy with the day of catching, but there is no way I can do that on a consistent basis not for 77 days straight. I like to think of myself as a pretty good bass fisherman, but it ain't happening especially on the Stick Marsh, the place has trophy bass and when the bite is on, its ON, but its not a numbers factory. I know some local shell pits and residential golf ponds that can put up numbers. but I would run out of spots to fish after a week or two and the same hot spots' bass would receive a formal education. Even if I fished the Big O with Steve Daniels or Scott Martin every day for 77 days I don't think we could catch over 38 fish per person per day. So shot me a PM and I'll put you up for a week at my pool house. Once you get here you can show me how its not a problem in S. Florida to average 38-39 bass a day per person over 77 days.
  2. That makes sense! The best numbers day I ever had was about 50/60 bass, 30 caught in a 30 minute period. They were all stunted fish out of a shell pit. I guess if you fish a bunch of packed lakes it is a reasonable feat.
  3. Only if my wife is going to use it ;D
  4. Watched Legends of Rod and Reel on the Outdoor Channel. They had a guest on, David Romeo, that made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for catching the most bass in a season. He claims he caught 3001 bass over a fishing season. I am not sure what a "fishing season" is since in Florida it fishing season all year long, but I think I remember hearing say over a 77 day period. Therefore, he averaged 38.97 fish/day. Left me wondering if the guy is full of hot air or fishing some stocked ponds. What do you think?
  5. I could not agree more, its like duck hunting. You could have everything right, but if the ducks are landing somewhere else, your luck is 0! Secondly, the use of Live Bait (Shiners, Bluegill, etc.) really tips the scales in the anglers favor. I call it cheating though!
  6. I have one and its great! You better keep the charger close though !
  7. Exactly 100% correct. GARMIN is the best you can have! Other units may have some gimmick type features, but Garmin has excellent reception! I have a Garmin Oregon 400i. The Colorado series is great also.
  8. Bassn, The Stealership is not the place for ANYTHING, unless you're having warranty work. My wife has a Saab convertible and they wanted $500 for brake replacement :'(. I think Palm Beach Auto works on Volvo, give them a call.
  9. You can thank Global cooling, I mean Global warming, or is it climate change :-/
  10. Like I said, back burner! I didn't notice it outright, but remember thinking a baitcaster's drag doesn't click :-?. Also, I think ESPN has Zona playing chicken commentator, he even joked about it, it seemed.
  11. You may have a class action suit on your hands, put a T.V. commercial on so you can recruit other Hoover users that suffered injuries as a result of flying plastic flanges.
  12. NICE fish, must of have been a heck of a fight on a crappie outfit.
  13. Farm raised catfish is great, but I love Shellcrackers and Crappie. The best eating fish for a mild not so fishy taste is Pompano, if you get it.
  14. I use a pair of Sears Craftsman diagonal cutters for about a couple of years it has a certain part on it that cuts braid instantly, since my buddy dropped my other one in the lake >. Some dude on T.V. said this is the bomb for cutting braid, anyone try it yet?
  15. Looks cool, but must be scary around corners, my jon boat skips like a rock if I don't let off the throttle and dig a corner in first. If you let off on a jet ski type boat you lose steering .
  16. I pick: 1. Kevin VanDam 2. Michael Iaconelli 3. Gary Klein 4. Greg Hackney 5. Dean Rojas I'm pulling for Gary though! ;D
  17. From North Carolina, dude I figured most of the student body would be outdoorsmen. I remember reading about a European country that made ti illegal to sport fish, since it was considered cruel to trick fish and hook them. So if you were fishing as a catch and release fisherman you would be committing a crime, since you were maliciously hurting fish by hooking them for your pleasure. Although, I occasionally run across women, haven't met a man yet, that use that line of reasoning.
  18. As Catt says, spinnerbaits and my personal favorite Buzzbaits. During the summer here in Florida we get some quick storms moving through, and as the wind picks up and the water gets some ripple, I'll toss a spinnerbait. After the storm. winds usually die down and I'll throw a buzzbait along weedlines. To bass rains mean something is getting washed into the water and usually that something is on top, why not let it be your buzzbait ;D. Also, if its dead calm and still cloudy try a Pop-r after the storm, they'll crush it.
  19. I know Booyah bought McGuinness or at least bought the rights to use the leverage system, but I don't like the Booyah, as much. Does anyone here know where I can get some original McGuinness spinnerbaits with the leverage system? Also, I am the only guy here that doesn't think the leverage design is a GIMIC? When they first came out I tried them and the next day I swept up on them. My buddy was threw his bread and butter Hildebrandt brand spinnerbait all day long and I out caught him with a similar color. Also, once you stick them with the leverage design you usually don't lose them, especially when the spinnerbait gets up there in weight. I also like the fact that the hook rides a bit further back.
  20. The editing team over at ESPN has put BASS on the back burner it seems. I had the same issue thinking my DVR was not working correctly.
  21. I was out on Friday and did well, ended up catching close to 20 in a morning session, biggest went about 4. Water level on the flats is a bit lower, but clarity is great. If someone wants to go during the week this week, I'm ready so PM me and we can set it up.
