  1. That's quite a price range. What will this be used for? Or just an all-around setup?
  2. It's like the Rage Menace and Sweet Beaver had a baby.
  3. I hear ya! I took advantage of the Kistler 21% off sale (plus stacked another 10% off) a few weeks back and ordered my first two Kistler rods. The first was a Helium 3 (7'1" med/heavy), which I've been able to use a few times. Using this for Texas rigs. The sensitivity on this thing is GREAT. Opening day the water was still quite cold. Was pitching a Lake Fork ring fry around some brush and felt this guy/girl barely pick it up. The 2nd rod I ordered was a 7'2" KLX Fell N Reel for throwing cranks and maybe chatterbaits. That's been on back order but I see it has shipped the other day so I should be getting it soon. Trey (Kistler owner) is a great guy and super easy to talk to.
  4. Yup. 12 is more than sufficient also if you aren't worried about being dragged into any brush, etc.
  5. I use 14 lb mono.
  6. Yeah, I have a few jars. As long as they don't tear the tail completely off.
  7. I have quite a few 6th Sense cranks/square bills. Haven't had any issues yet. I'll say one thing, their hooks out of the package are the real deal. And like others have said, the paint jobs are a thing of beauty.
  8. Yeah, can't wait til the first 20" pike gets a hold of my 8" Magdraft. Here in WI pretty much every lake that holds bass also has pike in it.
  9. I agree if the box is folded in half, then that's on the shipping company. But these rods are pricey and somewhat delicate. Companies should be shipping them in tubes.
  10. Overton's is same as Gander. They're legit.
  11. Funny. I have the same rod coming on Tue and also plan on putting my Curado K on it. 7.4:1
  12. Dang. Well, I can always send it back if that's the case. Thanks for your review.
  13. I just ordered this. Seems great.
  14. You want a great smallie lake (and smaller) that is closer to IL? Pine Lake in Waukesha County. Not a ton of parking spots so get there early if you go on the weekend.
  15. 25% off your order at Overton's. No minimum.
  16. Frog fishing is probably my favorite way of fishing. It's hard for me to pick just one brand. Booyah Pad Crasher is probably my favorite overall. But I LOVE the Scum Frog especially if I'm fishing real thick stuff. I like the Pro Series. Already comes with rattles inside. Jackall Kaera is a smaller frog that works great. Live Target in the Green Brown color is money. Jackall Gavacho Frog is another one that does well for me. Easy to walk and spits water quite well. Use in more open water situations. 75% of the time I'm throwing black color.
  17. In between MKE and Madison...Watertown area. I fish Waubasa quite a bit. Need to hit Mendota more for big smallies.
  18. Nice! And thanks again for the heads-up. What part of the state are you out of?
  19. FYI, they don't have hook keepers for some reason. I ordered one of these... https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Fuji_Ez_Keeper/descpage-FUJIEZK.html
  20. Listen to me, and listen good. I hate you, and I hate this site!!! I say that with love, though. But my wallet hates you all. ? I ordered a Kistler Helium 3 because someone notified us all of the 21% off (including an extra 10%) that's going on. Now, I didn't NEED another rod. Today I noticed the sale is still going on, so what the heck, I ordered the 7'2" Feel n Reel from them as well, for cranks/chatters/lipless). Did I NEED it? Naaaah. And now you...coming in hot with THIS news. I've been looking to upgrade my jig rod. So naturally I quick ran over to TW to order an Expride. Did I NEED a new jig rod? Nope. And I usually never order from TW until they have a sale going on. But who knows when they'll be getting more in? I have issues. Thankfully I'll be able to work some OT at work to pay for some of this stuff. Mods, is there any way to lock me out of this thread?
  21. Just did after seeing these are back in stock. I need to sell some of my other rods now.
  22. Thanks for all the replies guys. I did go ahead and order a few Kistlers (sale got me!). Got the 7'1" med/heavy Helium 3 (may throw t-rigs on this). And ordered a 7'2" KLX Feel n Reel for cranks, lipless cranks, chatterbait. Hope I like it.
  23. Bait "monkey"? Hell, I have a Bait Orangutan that never leaves my side. Here's an old pic of us from some years ago.
