  1. What do you mean by updated? The ones back on the site are still called ZX Tournament and look the same??
  2. Deciding between these rods at the moment. Wanna be able to throw smaller swimbaits like Ospreys Talons, and Big Bites BB Kicker and Suicide Shad. It could also double as a punching rod, if possible. I was looking at the Falcon BuCoo SR 7'3" heavy/fast. Or, Dobyns Fury Casting Rod 7'3" Mag Heavy (735C). I have no experience with Falcon rods. I do have 2 Dobyns (lighter models) that I really like. Both retail for the same price. Any thoughts? Thanks..
  3. A few weeks back, they didn't even have the ZX rods listed anymore on their site. My local Cabela's was getting thinned out, too. But I just looked, and now they have them back on their site, so who knows?
  4. Definitely. I got their frog rod on sale for $80, and it's great. Love the grips on it, too. Sadly, I think they're being discontinued.
  5. Good stuff. How's the saying go? Once you go baitcaster, you never go back? Something like that... (Not entirely true. Still some applications where I love spinning)
  6. Besides green pumpkin, I like black/blue flake, baby bass and rainbow trout. Also, I only use 5" version. Weightless Texas rig or Wacky rigged.
  7. Yeah, the more I think about it it may not be ideal. Especially considering I like throwing a light underspin on my Keitechs from time to time.
  8. A guy I know has a new Falcon BuCoo he's selling. It's 7'2" med/heavy-mod. fast action. Falcon has it labels as their "swim jog" rod. I've never used a Falcon before. How is their mod. fast? I read one review on TW that said their med/heavy or more like medium. Not sure how accurate that is or not. I'd like to also use this rod for t-rigged Keitech's (3.8 & 4.3. Maybe 4.8 if possible). Is this feasible? Or should I stick with a MHF?
  9. I've always liked War Eagle. But my new favorite may be Pepper Custom Baits spinnerbaits.
  10. I'm gonna be pretty upset some day when scientists are able to tap into the minds of bass, only to find out that lure colors mean absolutely nothing to them, regardless of water clarity, water temps, time of year, etc.
  11. Got my first boat (not counting old jon boat). '18 Crestliner VT 17. Lots to learn, for sure.
  12. Another question. When hauling the boat, should I take the front pedestal/seat down? Or is it ok if it's sticking up?
  13. Well I got the boat and was able to take it out for a bit with a friend. Few things I learned right away. I need to practice on my backing (big time), and I need practice launching/loading. When I launched, as I was backing in the water slowly, waiting to see the boat float up a bit, when it dropped, the trolling motor bracket hit/caught on the winch roller. Not sure what I did wrong there. Unless the bracket is sticking out further than it should be? What do you guys recommend for dock fenders? I was looking at the cylinder ones. You have to air them up/down? That's something I didn't know. My boat is 17.5'. I read I should get fenders that are around 5-5.5" in diameter. But what about length? And is 2 enough? Thanks again for all the help and tips.
  14. Because he lost his favorite lure!!! Pretty sure that's a popper you can't get anymore. May I suggest a newer, similar model that I really like? http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/6th_Sense_Splash_Back_Topwater_Popper/descpage-6SSBTP.html http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1612/6615/products/SBBM_1024x1024.jpg?v=1527191872
  15. Thanks fellas. What diameter is recommended? FYI, this is for a 17.5' mod V, so nothing crazy heavy.
  16. What kind of rope do you all use when launching your boat solo? I see there are tons of different kinds, so I wanna make sure I get the right kind. Also, what kind of rope for tying to the dock? Nylon? I assume "anchor rope" is intended just for that?
  17. Gander Outdoors has 20% off order of $100 or more. Promo code: SUMMER20
  18. Good stuff, thanks guys! My list is now updated with your suggestions. Super excited for Friday. Sadly, it's supposed to be storming I believe, so not sure if I'll take her out then. Maybe if it isn't too bad.
  19. Have a cart waiting on Academy Sports next 20% off sale.
  20. I'll finally be getting my new boat this weekend after waiting a looong 2 months from the factory. It'll be a Crestliner V17. Not counting my little jon boat I used to have, this will be my first "real" boat at 43 years old. I've always fished on friends boats, but I didn't know the ins and outs of what they all had on-board. Essentials. I know I need to get a rope for launching (will 50 ft work?). Other things. Fire Extinguisher (which I believe comes with it) First Aid Kit Whistle Life jackets/cushion Ropes for towing/tying up to dock Air Horn Dock fenders/bumper pads (any thoughts on one or the other) Oar? Spotlight? Spare prop? Certain tools? I appreciate ANY insight you can give me. Whether it's stuff I should always keep in the boat, or any other tips I should know as a boat owner.
  21. This song is fitting, for sure. Give it a listen.
  22. Stupid question. But is there such thing as overdoing it in regards to gauge/ft? I ended up getting a 25 ft, 12 gauge cord for when it's being charged inside.
  23. Appreciate it fellas. Maybe I'll go with a 25' for when it's garaged, and get a 100' when I go on overnight trips.
  24. Turtles maybe?
