Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
My PF orders, a small TW order and Grande Bass swimbaits/Air Tail Rattlers. Oh, and a few rods from two JDM companies I never tried before. Major Craft Benkei and Legit Design Stand Out. Can't use them yet but both rods feel and look great. Wasn't sure what reel I was gonna get for the Benkei, then remembered I had a Lew's LFS that was rodless...and bonus, it just so happens to match up nicely with the gold accents. Some of these Berkley baits I absolutely didn't need. A few I haven't fished before but figured I'd give them a shot at that price.

And he was like ho hum, it came off. That's a sign of a guy who's used to catching giants. And I hear ya on the 5 pounders. A 5 pounder is a big fish anywhere in the country. Obviously here in WI they're more rare than down south, but I catch a handful every year. Maybe if I ever get FFS I'll get even more. Mt largest bass is 6 lb. I can't even imagine hauling a double-digit beast into the boat. Some of those 13+ pounders look like friggin'mutants!

That was something. That happened to me once...except mine ended up being a huge log. ?♂️

Look at those bellies...good stuff! Did you get a weight on them? I love the D-Walker. Makes a great swim jig trailer as well.

What were your PBs? Any pics? What'd you catch them on? That's awesome!

That has definitely crossed my mind...many times.

How many rods?
This is usually me. Then if I find a pattern I may only use 3 rods are so most of the day. But I love catching bass on all different techniques. I'm usually on the water for 10-12 hours, so there's plenty of time to try different things, especially if something stops working. I'll also have multiple rods set up with same style baits. Meaning a lot of times I'll have 2 swim jigs ready to go. One on 16 lb fluoro and one on straight braid.

They came in a tray and then in a bag. After further inspection, there's definitely more that aren't bent than are bent. Here are a few that are bent.

Anybody Ever Get Caught Without Their License?
A lot of people hate it when a warden bothers them. I wish I saw them more than I do. So many poachers out there going unpunished.

Anybody Ever Get Caught Without Their License?
In WI we don't have to physically have our fishing license on us, as long as we have our drivers license on us.

I doubt many fisherman use Kast King fluoro. May be a way to get people to try it out/get people talking.

Crappy Imitators
Savage Gear Pulse Tail Dirty White Chatterbait is also a good option.

Zodias vs Rebellion
To be honest, I was a little surprised when you said the Rebellion felt heavy. Maybe that model doesn't balance well? And I agree the Levante is a great rod. I love everything about it minus one very minor issue (to me at least, most people don't have issue with it) is the length of the trigger. It's shorter than most other rods. Personally I like it a little longer. With that said, it wouldn't keep me from buying another one. I have the jerkbait special that I use as a 2nd/3rd jerkbait rod and some topwater. 6'11 M that weighs 4.26 oz.

Zodias vs Rebellion
I can't help you with those specific models. All I can say is I have both Zodias and Rebellion rods. Both are equally great rods as far as feel, fit and finish. They're also quite light. My 7'2 H Zodias casting rod weighs 4.47 oz. 6'9 ML Zodias spinning weighs 3.62 oz. And my 7'1 ML Rebellion spinnings weighs 3.40 oz.

TW backordered wait?
TW is like McDonald's and Wal-Mart. They'll always be #1 in their respected industry. But if Omnia is able to significantly improve their stock with the new move to a larger warehouse, they're gonna take away a lot of customers. I'll always check Omnia first, but TW still blows them away when it comes to product availability.

TW backordered wait?
I ordered some Mann's Rats and a few packs of Guido Bugs back in '99 and I'm still waiting on them.

I think the Pure Fishing deals ruined me. Now I find myself scoffing at the 20-30% off sales on other sites.

Has anyone fished the Picasso AMart Carbon Fiber Shock Blade Pro Vibrating Jig? I have a few of the regular shock blades but have yet to use them. The blade is carbon fiber, so I imagine that alone will give off a different sound/vibration than the typical metal/steel blades. They're on sale at TW now for $4.98 (reg. $16.29). Actually there's a bunch of different model Picasso bladed jigs marked way down to $4.98.

Missile Baits Spunk Shad??
I saw a video where John Crews was talking about the Missile Baits Spunk Shad. Being sponsored by Missile Baits, I figured it was just a slip of the tongue. But then I decided to look it up. I always thought Hog Farmer was it's own stand-alone bait company. Did this recently change? The Missile Baits version only comes in 6 colors (on Omnia's site, I don't see them on TW or even Missile's/Hog Farmer's sites). They are different colors than the Hog Farmer, except for green pumpkin. Anyways, just found this interesting.
