J.J.'s Magic/dye Storage
With my Curado box, I had foam in the bottom. With this box I don't think it'll be necessary with how tight they fit. If I tip it on it's side they don't slide.

On the bright side...I bet you didn't have any vampires messing with you the rest of the night.

J.J.'s Magic/dye Storage
As many of you know, J.J.'s Magic can be a pain in the butt. Not just when using it but also storing it somewhere where it won't tip over, etc. I used to just use an old Curado box to keep mine in, and then keep that in one of my boat lockers. But today I was in Wal-Mart and came across this little plastic container. It's approx. 3.5" x 5.5" (smaller than my Curado box). It was only $3.50 so I figured I'd grab one and see if the jars would fit. Well, they fit perfectly. When you put the box lid on and latch it it's very snug. No way the jars can tip over. I'm thinking you could fit 5 jars in there. Anyways, figured I'd pass this along in case anybody would be interested.

Last question - what line do I want for 1-3 oz swimbaits/glide baits, and do I need a new reel or can my Curado 200XGK handle it just fine?
20lb Big Game. Cheap and effective.

I just remember telling you that if you mess around with the blades the Fishing Gods will curse you.

Do you have to buy a dedicated swimbait rod even for smaller (1-2.5 oz) baits?
Daiwa has a new swimbait rod in their Tatula line. 7'3 H/Mod. Rated up to 4 oz.

Berkley pit boss
What jig is that? I know I know (huh??) but having a brain fart.

Berkley pit boss
I almost exclusively use the 4". The 3" is a nice finesse jig trailer. I don't use the 4" for trailers. I flip/pitch with them. Also a good punch bait. There have been so many times where I'll be throwing a Rage Bug or a Brush Hog etc, and won't be doing too well. And I'll switch to a Pit Boss and just like that bites will pick up. It doesn't have a crazy action with a Rage Craw or something of the like, but it has more action than a beaver-style bait. By far my favorite color is Perfection Blue Fleck. Followed by Big Texan. TW carries Perfection but not Perfection Blue Fleck.

The day Berkley stops making the Pit Boss is the day I stop fishing.

Yeah, but do those other places sell Googan posters? I rest my case.

You realize Karls/Catch Co. is a sponsor here, right? They help keep the lights on. I like any heads-up on sale items. I don't care where they comes from. Personally I don't shop there, but I'm sure others do.

Crankbait Order Finally
With most deep divers, I'll use a 5 speed, or a 6.3. Just so much easier dealing with the drag from those big bills. I can still burn them fast if I want if I just reel really fast.
-
are you rubbing your soft plastics to dull them?
Speaking of...?♂️ I don't even know where to start with this. Besides the pure stupidity of it all, the 15 treble hooks just maaay be against the law in most states.

Crankbait Order Finally
What gear ratio are you guys throwing the deep cranks on? I know Matt recommends 8 speed, but to that I say 'no thanks!'. To the OP, have you dabbled into lipless cranks yet? I always have one tied on, no matter the time of year.

Do you have to buy a dedicated swimbait rod even for smaller (1-2.5 oz) baits?
I have the Fury 795 for my larger swimbaits. But for little lighter hard swimbaits, I have the ALX IKOS Thunder (7'6 XH/mod-fast). Rated up to 2 oz. Also makes a good deep cranking rod and for A-Rigs. Also have the Jenko Savant which is rated up to 2 oz. The tip on this is a little softer than the IKOS.

Wildest catch
To this day I still don't now how I managed to hook this little guy. First off, it was t-rigged (obviously the hook popped out at some point). I was pitching docks, working the bait slowly. So it's not like I was stroking it or anything. Also, this isn't some super sharp, light wire hook either. This little guy was so tiny and light, I just don't know how I managed to pierce it considering all those factors.

Improved Clinch , Trilene or Uni Knot ?
Palomar for braid. I used to always use the Trilene knot for mono and copolymer and San Diego Jam for fluoro. But starting last year I began using the Trilene knot with my fluoro as well with zero issues. Easily the quickest, easiest knot to tie (for me, anyways).

Agree. $15 is $15. That's 7 chances at Mega Millions. Or 2 dozen eggs!

I kept waiting on pulling the trigger. But the price jumped $15 from yesterday afternoon to last night. Still a great deal but now I feel like I'll be getting ripped off. ?

Dobyns Champion XP vs Mojo Bass casting?
Dobyns rods are definitely on the heavier side (weight-wise), but they do balance nicely.

I want. Doubt I'd ever throw it tho. But I want. This is the extend of my 'crazy' colors. Mainly have them for dirty water. Admittedly, they haven't seen the water much because I don't throw jerkbaits as much in those situations. Tho I may start more this year. The last 2 pics are of the same bait. Each side is a different color. Smallies love the first color, even in gin clear water. Sadly, pike do too.- shimano curado green reel
Here's some closer pics of the 3. The last one has a little more rash than the others. Willing to trade for 2 cartons of eggs. - MB Vision color patterns
