  1. On the surface like a Stanley Ribbit or Horny Toad. Either weightless or light keel weighted hook.
  2. Ordered some last night.
  3. Truth is, nobody really knows.
  4. I'd say the best all-around rod would be in the 7'-7'2 range and MH/F. Or XF, depending on the manufacturer.
  5. Not really, but Shimano and Daiwa definitely tops my list. As of right now I have: Shimano- 11 Daiwa- 10 Lew's- 4 Pflueger- 4 13 Fishing- 1 Abu Garcia- 1 Piscifun- 1
  6. @Bluebasser86 has used them if I remember correctly.
  7. Speak it into existence!!
  8. TW has a spring sale going on. 25% off select items. $157 for the Powell Naked Series rods is a great deal. Just an awesome, no frills rod. I have the 7'3 H that is use with braid fishing swim jigs in grass. It just has a great feel.
  9. I think you're onto something. Ducks have a strong kick!
  10. This is tough. Swim Jig most likely. Followed by a t-rigged Pit Boss or Jackall Archelon.
  11. I've given up on the Carolina rig. Granted, I've never even started it, but... The baits or the smallies?
  12. This is why I disagree with those who say rods don't matter. Either you can detect bites or you can't. It's not about the rod. Yadda yadda. Yes, your senses help big time. But a crisp, sensitive rod does as well.
  13. Seconded.
  14. I definitely meant bowfin, not bowfish. ?‍♂️
  15. They are a pain, but I think bowfish are pretty cool fish. So prehistoric-looking. Some of them have the blue on the fins.
  16. I have a 7'1 MH/XF Helium I bought 3 years ago or so. It has the NFC blank. If the new Helium's are anything like them, you're gonna love it. Extremely sensitive.
  17. Warbaits heads hold them pretty good. They come in regular (no weed guard), regular underspin, weedless and weedless underspin. Big fan of these.
  18. I will fish their Rattlin Ned in dirty water, but have never tried any of the other stuff and don't foresee myself ever doing so.
  19. Hahaa, unless you're a Googan Baits fan, you aren't really missing anything. Tho BOGO Bait Fuel is enticing. I'd stock up but not sure what the shelf life is on that stuff.
  20. You could definitely throw a trailer hook on it, but I never do and don't seem to have any issues. If I felt they were short-striking it I certainly would depending on the cover I'm fishing around. And I never put an actual trailer on the SV-3 either. Here's the SV-3 and Nichols side by side. The profiles are quite similar in size, with the Megabass having smaller blades.
  21. Here's a handful of spinnerbaits I like throwing. It's kind of hard to tell the size differences in photos. But you can definitely see how the SV3 and War Eagle have a smaller profile than most. Much of it attributed to it's smaller blades. But they also has a shorter shanked hooks. 1) Terminator Super Stainless 2) Megabass SV-3 3) Revenge Baits (I think these are discontinued) 4) War Eagle Mike McClelland Finesse 5) Z-Man Sling Bladez 6) River2Sea Ish Monroe Bling 7) Siebert Outdoors Compact Double Willow 8) Nichols Pulsator Metal Flake Double Willow
  22. Is that the 6" or the new 5" they just released? It's a nice bait.
  23. Yeah the pike ain't shy about busting on a frog either. When I get them to the boat and see they just got a hook in their mouth an none of the frog body, I count my blessings. ? Bowfin (Dogfish) are an issue too on some lakes. They'll mess a bait up worse than a pike. MEAN SOB's.
  24. LOL. I lost 2. And a more Jackhammers than I wanna count.
