For crankbaits, I would say if you can swing a Tatula Elite then do it. They cast approximately 20% further than the other reels in the Tatula line and are also nice and small in profile. For crankbaits, the extra casting distance is welcome as it will keep your bait in the strike zone longer.

Between the two I would go with the Fury hands down. They're pretty solid rods at the price point. If you want to step up to the Mojo Bass, it's absolutely worth every penny. I got my hands on the Bass X in a store a few months ago, and was tapping the tip on my kids jacket and I really couldn't feel a thing which is fairly normal with rods around $100 and less. When I did the same thing with the Mojo Bass, the difference was like night and day.

In that case, just use heavier braid. I used 30# and 40# braid for senkos before and it's strong enough to pull them out of cover and will sink slower than 15# braid. Braid itself is fairly buoyant. Once it hits the water, it will have air bubbles that will cause it to sink slower than mono, so it seems like braid would be a good choice for what you're after.

I think I only have poppers and cranks. As for the Pop X and Pop Max, they're the only poppers you need, they pop and walk as well as anything and since I don't lose too many, I can argue they're worth the extra cost. The S-Cranks don't always work as well or better than other cranks in certain situations, but when the bite is on they work amazing. At some point I will have to try some of the jerkbaits.

By far the thing that drives me insane is finding trash and someone's used needles lying around.

Well it seems like it's only going to stick to my porch roof. Last night it was all rain but now it's hitting the ground as snow and melting instantly, so it doesn't look like anything will stick. I'm sure we need the water too, we didn't have much snow melt the last couple of seasons.

I believe it's stopping right around I91, so it won't even come close to 495. My youngest son got a couple on Saturday as did some of the other guys around us.

Saturday was about 75. Now this is our forecast for the next couple of days.

Yes it is getting to be that time. This is a really busy week for me though and as I figure many people will be out fishing this weekend, how about next week sometime? Any day besides Monday really.

That makes perfect sense. The DD box is taller so you put them upright, there may be a little bit of wasted space with smaller ones, but it's much less of an issue that way. I do not have the Bud Bag, so I can't help you there.

I don't think I have any 1.5s that I can quite double up on.

If a lighter weight reel is what you're after, why not go all out and get the Aldebaran MGL 50? Of course that's for no more than 12# line max if the diameter isn't too thick so it might not be what you're looking for but it's one of the lightest reels out there.

Maybe a random question but are you thinking of the cranking coffin or the 3700dd? I mean there is some room with smaller cranks for sure but a 2.5 takes the full compartment. I'm just happy to have my 1.5s and 2.5s in one box that fits them all.

I have definitely had bass pick up my jig and spit it pretty quickly and I go to set the hook and don't get a fish. I'm sure this has happened at some point to everyone here. However sometimes they absolutely hammer it. I remember one time I cast my jig out and a bass hit it I swear before it even hit the water. That fish had probably swam 20 feet in my direction with the jig in its mouth before I even knew what was going on and could get my line tight and make a hookset. I think a lot of it depends on the fish's mood, time of yea, brand and color of the jig and if the angler's hair is just right and so forth.

I just got a Tatula LT 2500D and it's so light that I was honestly worried that the box only had the manual in it and no reel when I got it.

I've picked up a few Tatula elite rods this year that might fit the bill. So far I have the 7' M-MH/XF Ehrler finesse rod for T-rigs and finesse jigs and that is an awesome rod that can cast a very light weight and has enough power to pull them out of lighter cover still. I'm waiting for the 7'1" M/F Ehrler dropshot rod, which is nationally backordered. Other lines I would look at would be the Shimano Expride, if you get a good enough sale you can get them to $250 or less, and the new St. Croix Victory series.

I just got my oldest son a SLX MGL 70. I have a few Tatula SVs. I used the SLX a little bit on Saturday, and my initial thoughts are that if you are looking to bomb cast light baits, I would give it the nod over the SV. The spool really does spin up very quick like advertised and once I got it setup just right, I was able to bomb cast a weightless senko into wind without issues and like most Shimano reels, it gets pretty good distance. On the other hand, I would give the Tatula SV the nod for pitching, skipping and target casting heavier baits.
