That's what I thought when I first saw the fish.

Yes. I don't know how you would rig a 4.20 Beaver with a 4/0 hook. A 3/0 hook is more or less as long as the body of regular beaver and I don't see how you could use a 4/0 hook which is longer.

Looks like bodybuilder. That's the fattest dink I ever caught. With such proportions I'm sure this will be a big fish in a few years.

Why do you think you're missing alot of fish with these hooks?

A 5/0 hook is way to big for a regular beaver but is perfect for the double wide beaver. I use 3/0 ewg hooks with the regular beaver.

Well done, congrats! That fish is about 4.5lbs., good fish no matter what. That's from fanning the bed.

Went to the lake at 8am, kind of late I thought but I still caught 8 fish. 8-) I didn't get any big fish (all 2-3lbs.) but just before going home I decided to make a few more cast and caught this 6lber. Again, the double wide beaver did the trick.

Around here when the water is still cold I wait up to 5-6 sec. to set the hook. I've been using double wide beavers alot lately and I haven't had any hook up problems but the water temp. is about 60. I set the hook as soon I feel a tap. I'm even catching 1lbers. with the double wide beavers, which is a pretty big bait for such small fish. Maybe the bass in your area are just not taking the bait well at the moment. Next time try the smallie beaver.
