  1. I just have to add that is probably the most beautiful fish I have ever seen! A perfect specimen of an LMB! She sure looks like a northern strain?
  2. I just knew that you were going to buy some LC's. Great baits or what? You can't go wrong with the slender pointers, LV's and Sammy's! These are some of my favorite colors:
  3. Thanks Cajun! I fully understand the loyalty issue. I do tend to be loyal to certain brands in respect of particular bits and pieces of my tackle, and actually being loyal significantly increases the confidence factor. Yet, on the other hand, I am always willing to try something new, sometimes a small detail might make the difference. It has happenned to me with lipless crankbaits - I tried several different models from several manufacturers through the years, with no bias to any single one of them. Two models (both from the same company) have been producing so well for me though (compared to all the other ones I tried) that more or less I am now "loyal" to the company and the particular models. Yes, I do try other new lipless models I might run into, but there is now the inevitable "comparison" thing, and for more than a year I have remained loyal to these particular brand and models.... I guess this is all part of the great attraction of bass fishing.... I bet you're talking about Lucky Craft lipless cranks! Great post by the way!
  4. Since you guys reminded me of the Buzzjet which I haven't fished for a long time I tried it this evening and caught a nice 3.7lber. I was using the larger Buzzjet (3.8"). Great fun catching fish on this lure!

    Yep, the rod trick works!
  6. Nice fish! I thought you were hooked on swimbaits now!
  7. Nice fish but why would you push the cichlid down it's throat. That wasn't a very smart thing to do! Actually that was a pretty stupid thing to do. Sorry!
  8. That is just plain stupid and has nothing to do with hunting! I also lost my respect!
  9. Regardless of species,...............That include Humans?? ;D I guess I would be considered real pretty! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  10. Here's another bait with similar action: Shimano Triple Impact
  11. The Deps Buzzjet comes in 2 sizes. Regular 3.8" and the Buzzjet junior 2.9". The back hook is not feathered and it is mostly a topwater bait that I usually retrieve slowly. It will dive on fast retrieve but stays very shallow. You can also walk the dog with it. Great bait for fishing at night!
  12. That's all I use as well! Berkley Vertic Rod VTC682H Shimano Exage 4000 The rod is a bit on the light side for the Hud.
  13. I will never be able to catch a 10+lbs. here in Switzerland because they simply do not exist! I do believe I caught the Swiss record LMB (true northern strain) with 7.9lbs. It's not official because I released the fish after weighing it and taking a pic. What I know is that the previous record was 7.26lbs.

    Good job!

Great story! Congrats to your son!
  16. Well done! But I would go bigger! With those 2" Storm swimbaits you won't catch any big bass (it might happen but is unlikely). I would try a least 4" and up to 7-8" swimbaits to get those big one's. You might not get as many fish but when you do it will be a good fish! I think Storm makes those Swimbaits up to 7" if I'm not mistaken. Since you got your confidence with Swimbaits now just go bigger and you'll see, sooner or later you WILL get your 10lber.
  17. Baits that are used for keychains usually have some kind of defect that's why they end up as such. I got some free storm chug bugs as keychains some time ago and I did exactly what you described exept i didn't sell them but i use them. If those matsuo lures run right after "doctoring" them i don't see anything wrong with it.
  18. Here a couple more: Evergreen Combat Crank Flatside O.S.P. HPF Crank 63
  19. 5.1lber.
  20. I caught 6 fish this afternoon. All on topwater baits. Two dinks, one 2.4lber, two 4lbers. and one 5.1lber. While I was reeling in one of the 4lbers. another bigger bass grabbed the lure and for a while I was fighting 2 fish. The bigger one then came off. Man what a fight having a 4lber. and a about 5lber hooked the same time! Great fun! The 3 biggest all were caught in the same spot with the same bait!
  21. Lucky Craft Bull
  22. Vagabond Persimmon Seed
  23. That happens to all of us! Just keep at it!
