Baitcast line
That's it! I use everything from 4 lb to 17 lb. You probably know this already, but when your buying bulk line, the secret to keeping the line left on the spool is to store it in a dry, dark place. I keep mine in Rubbermaid style boxes, in my garage.

Cabelas lifetime warranty cancelled!
When I was still at BPS during the buy out. I know that I read somewhere that "Lifetime" warranties were going away. Might have been something in-house, can't recall. Probably to sell more Gear Guard warranties! When Marcus Lemonis (sp?) bought Gander Mountain, now Gander Outdoors, one of the first things that they did was to cancel all warranties. It's done all the time, sucks but I guess it's just business.

Baitcast line
The "blueish tint" means it's fluorescent, meaning if will glow under a black light. It's great for night fishing. I've never been a big night fishermen, so I stick with green or clear. To your question, as of me resigning at BPS in June, Excel mono was being made by Pure Fishing. They are the parent company of both Trilene and Stern. Same stuff, cheaper price.

Baitcast line
I don't know Captain Hooked, I've used Excel 10 lb on my BPS Pro Qualifier casting reels, on Crankin Sticks and on my CarbonLite spinning rods and reels for years. I feel like it cast as well and as far as any other mono I've tried. I'm not a huge floro fan, so I don't have a comparison.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'm a little late, still in a turkey coma. I agree with what NYWayfarer said above. I love this place.

BPS/Cabelas?
Before I bailed on BPS, I bought a ton of their high end rods and reels. After setting up Chris Lane's demo stuff during the SFC, I decided to upgrade to all Platinum casting rods and reels. I also bought several Patriot spinning rods. As a former employee, my advice is to buy anything and everything you want if your budget allows. I'm retired, so my BPS money was pretty much play money. I mean, 45% is 45% , use it to your advantage. As a Cabela's associate, do you get the same deal on boats as BPS employees? If so, buy a boat!

Johnny Morris CarbonLite 2.0 Rods
It's an excellent deal. The CarbonLite's are great rods, especially when they're on sale.

Who Is Done Fishing for the Year?
I hate to say it, but I think I'm done. Other than one light action and one ultra light action spinning set up, I've stripped all my reels. We've got a lot going on between now and Christmas, I may hit some creeks and ponds near the house if time permits.

Gear storage in winter
All my stuff stays in the garage, but it's insulated and heated. Plus here in TN it doesn't get super cold for long stretches of time. The one thing that I do religiously is back the drag off on all reels, tension knobs too.I read somewhere that it isn't good to store reels with the drag and tension tightened.

2019 BASS Elites
I had the opportunity to go to dinner with #54, Garrett Paquette a year ago. Super nice guy and very knowledgeable. I wish him, and the others well.

Pure fishing sold
It will be interesting to see what happens with Pure Fishing. Did you see where the parent company of Lews/ Strike King bought Southern Plastics? Southern makes all of Strike King's soft plastics, along with BPS and a few others. Interesting things happening in our sport

Limited Lifetime
Brother, I never took you as being argumentative and seriously hoped that you didn't think that I was. One of the things that I really love about this site is that we can disagree, have differences of opinions and discussions without WW3 breaking out. To your point above, I agree! I would much rather drop a $100.00 replacement fee than $300.00. Possibly I didn't explain my point very well. If I pay $300.00 for a rod valued at a retail price of $300.00 (with replacement coverage) and break it, I mail "them" $100.00 plus the broken $300.00 rod. I no longer own the broken rod, "they" do. I get the replacement rod (valued at a retail price of $300.00). I now have $400.00 of my hard earned retirement dollars tied up in one rod that is worth a retail price of $300.00. That's all I was trying to say. A customer actually brought this to my attention.

I've purchased several things from ACK, although never a yak. Friendly folks, fast delivery, fair prices. I'll purchase from them again.

You "honey crisp" guys are 100% right, those things are excellent! Crisp, tart, juicy and full of flavor. I'm in your debt.

H2O Lures Discontinued...
I was at the Knoxville, TN Academy today. They had a good supply of all H2O baits in stock. There were a few colors here and there that were out of stock. No clearance tags or decals on anything. The counter guy said that he hasn't heard anything about them being discontinued, but he was a part timer. On a different note, I did pick up my granddaughters first bike. She loves the Frozen movie. We got her a Frozen bike.

Brother, I'm not being argumentative, but I don't follow you're logic. Your a Loomis guy, and that's fine, they make a great product! If you pay $300.00 for a rod and break it, it's gone. Loomis used to require you to send it back (either in two pieces or four) along with $100.00 replacement fee. That's $400.00 with one rod to show? That and them dropping the "over the counter replacement" why the bottom fell out of our Loomis sales.
