I bought one in each of the original four colors. Gave them several honest tries. Not impressed at all. I will say they had a good "thump" to them. If I remember correctly, only two of the colors had rattles.

Just my opinion and my experience I guess. Several years ago I bought the Plano Guide Series 3700. I knew better when I bought it, it weighed a ton empty! By the time I loaded it, the doggone thing would sink a boat! My advice, stay away from a Plano Guide Series 3700 bag unless they've reduced the weight. Edit, I forgot that the zippers were awful. The were hard to zip and got stuck often. I threw it away, seriously.

I'm a one brand guy for the most part. All of my baitcasters are mostly BPS Platinums, I still have a few Pro Qualifiers in use. All of my spare casters are Pro Qualifiers. My spinning reel are mostly BPS Johnny Morris signature series. I do have one Pflueger President and one Shimano Stradic use. All of my spare spinning reels are JM signature series.

My dad who passed away in 2006. He wasn't much into fishing but I'd give anything to hang out with him a bit longer. Richard, one of my closest friends and brother in Law Enforcement. He was into fishing! Committed suicide in 1998. They would be my first choice. As for famous folks go, smallmouth fishing author Tim Holschlag for river fishing. Jim Root for lake smallmouth fishing.

I used to run half of the internals on, the other half off. As far as the magnetic's, I had them on 5 to 7. I still set them like that at first of the "season". After I'm comfortable, I turn everything off.

I'm not real sure what happened in 2018, but I didn't get to go near enough. I think that I beat "MN Fisher" by one trip, I went four times. So sad. So my plan for 2019 is to actually go more.

I have one of the old Wiggle Warts. It has the old action. Bad thing is, I hate to use it because I don't want to lose it. Got an old Rebel "Humpy", 2 old Rebel "Teeny deep R's" and 1 "Teeny R" square bill that run perfectly too. Don't like to use them much either. Some of the older baits just have it.

Beautiful boy!!! We have a two year old female Shepherd. They are great animals, so smart.

Some mom and pop's will sell them for you, for a percentage. Used to be a shop in Oak Ridge, TN that sold used rods and reels, in addition to new. I sold around 10 rods and was pleased with what I received. I set a minimum price. If you have a shop nearby, that you trust, ask them. Worse they can do is say no.

I would rather purchase at local "mom & pop's", Edgemoor Outdoors or C&C Outdoors. Academy and BPS would be number two for me. I guess I'm old school, so online (Tackle Warehouse, etc) is my last option. I want to actually hold and see what I'm buying. I will say that when I've purchased from TW, I wasn't disappointed.

I believe they are weighing in at Thompson - Bowling Arena. It's where the basketball Vols play. It's right next to Neyland Stadium. Well, there is a parking lot in between.

I always ask for gift cards, BPS, Academy, local mom and pop shop. Years ago, I asked my wife for a specific rod, and a reel from my in-laws. Afterwards, they all said "Next year we'll just get you gift cards." Asked for gift cards ever since.

I'm planning on going to the weigh ins and probably one day of the Expo, maybe two if needed. I would really enjoy a get together. I live about 9 miles from everything, so I'm close

I checked with one of my friends that still works at BPS. All BPS and Cabela's employee's get a 45% discount on branded merchandise, 15% on everything thing else. I realize that Cabela's offered a 5% over cost discount for employees with approximately 7 years service, but 45% is nothing to sneeze at. Not sure what he's talking about?
