AVID HAVING COMPUTER WOES ASKED ME TO POST
Will do..............then I'm gonna shove it up your Thanks for posting for me. I've just kept trying. but I have no idea what's going on. I had dell working with me today. Seems like I lost Internet Explorer, so got that back but then lost BassResource.com. I can access at presant on Mozilla, still not on IE, and I have no clue what my password is or how long I'm going to stay logged in. I sent LBH an email, this is really strange, thanks again mudster. Unlike SOME people.....you know how to treat a brother. Why do you even care about IE? I mean, firefox is SOOO much better. And safer. It is a little better in the virus and spyware protection area than explorer.

Deepwater Senko Fishing
I tend to like finesse worms better than senkos, but I fish them EXACTLY like 1 would a senko. If they don't catch it on the fall, you ain't gonna get one on that cast. But, I successfully fish 15 + feet with a weightless one. Deeper than that, I would start using fluoro, as the mono starts to float the nose, and it goes backwards and the fish don't like it nose up.

Why wouldn't you use this as an opportunity to practice making your points clear and precise, and to make your grammer/typing/english even better? Use your hobbies as a opportunity to learn something and improve yourself. If you use the forums as an opportunity to quickly put your thoughts together in a clear and precise manner, imagine how good you could become at doing job interviews. If you develop bad habits when you are just "having fun" they will creep into the time when you are being serious. Developing good habits, even during leisure, makes them come to you easier when you need them to (i.e. tests, homework, jobs, etc.) Alright, you win. :-[

I is weally weally good at them ole' number thangs too and I is want'n to be one of dem ole' engineer jobbers too? yall dont fink me nedes to learn dat english subject do ya. mefinks maf is a good subject. Alright, to be honest with ya, I have two possibilities that would be my optimal future careers. And, I am real good in almost all my studies. I exceed in everything in my standardized tests, and my 8th grade GPA was all 4.0 and up. I like math better, but equally exceed in English, and am real good at it. But, when spending time online, I don't go to the trouble to make really good marks. I try to get in many posts, as I am a member of seven forums, and don't have the time to determine how I should best word my post. I just throw it out there, and hope I didn't have too many type-Os. I have to agree with kwchannell on this one. To be 100% honest with ya, my experiences with K-mart is the stuff is not always stacked up orderly, and many price labels are missing. I ain't sure about yours, but in ours, they are just plain lazy in marking them, or should I say not marking them. And, the dam price scanners have disappeared too. WTH?

Jerkbaits
X-rap. Right in the prespawn I like them. Run it 3 or so feet from a Christmas tree just below the surface, and the spots kill it.

favorite crappie/bluegill bait
Well, I caught a 3 inch bluegill on a 5/8 ounce crank. Sucker musta tried his best to get his tiny mouth on that hook. I have had them grab at a T-rigged finesse worm. But, when going to catch them, nothing beats a nightcrawler, a bamboo cane pole, and a cork bobber.

What did you do while...
Well, I am a member of seven forums, so I would post in one, check this one, post in anther, check this one, post in another, check this one, check Craigslist for any good deals, check this one. Then, I would try to access this one from google, to see if maybe the link had changed and my bookmark didn't work no more. Finally, I checked this one, and out of habit, I went to another forum after this one loaded. Halfway through a post there, it clicked, what I had seen was the main page, and not the forum is under service page. Never made that other post in that other site, but WHO CARES?

If finances would allow would you?
What is the matter with two boats? MBS (multiple boat syndrome) is the best disease I have ever gotten. I am hoping to get a more severe case of it in the coming months.

Opinions on "free sponsoring" so to speak?
I am 14 right now, and know that I am at an age where I can be easily influenced by a single remark or something, and not paying attention to the big picture of things. So, instead of relying on the two posts I saw this in, I thought I would try to get a wider view of perspectives. I LOVE bass fishing, and am on the edge of being eccentric (either that or extremely redneck) in certain aspects. I generally don't care what people think of me, for the most part, but do advertise my love for bass fishing by wearing some sort of bass Tee shirt. Often (not always) this is a BPS shirt, due to the fact that they are easy to come by, cheap, and there is a large variety of them. Would this be considered as free advertising, and a no no, or what? What are yalls opinions on this?

This site is closing...
Nice move Glenn. Another forum I frequent did this to. Had to do it twice to find something worth having, but in the end, it was worth it. Go ahead, the whole board is standing behind ya. By the way, what software are you going to?

And that, my friend, is what you want.

Finished our jonboat conversion! Pics
How on earth do you drive that thing? Seems like strap in and hang on with white knuckles. I would suggest having a second short (deck height) pedestal, so that when driving you sit lower, and more stable. Then, when at the fishing hole, lift seat, and drop in extension.

A little help with my son plz
Thats funny. I like bass fishing because you are always doing something. When we go crappie fishing or trout fishing and nothing bites, I tend to get a bit bored, as I am sitting there waiting for something. When bass fishing, I am constantly casting, working the TM, perfecting special odd retrieves, toying with what lure to throw, and all that fun stuff. Throwing a nightcrawler and waiting has just bored me. (the funny thing is, that is how I learned to like fishing - bored out of my mind, was there all day, and didn't catch anything) I guess this goes to show how much people differ from each other.

BPS Uncle Buck's Pond Prowler Boat for teenager.
BTW, when that plastic boat leaks, (and it will), you are in for a headache. surfer - I hate it when I see what people have done to some of the classic alumicrafts. Being a 1959 15 footer, I would guess that it was a covered bow type (my favorite runabout) Seeing as they put in a casting deck, they probably removed the bow cover, and I absolutely hate that. It just ruins the boat for good, and there are less and less each day. I just hate to see people trash boats like that, cause there are plenty of boat hulls that can be fishing boats just fine, but people have to trash great classics.

BPS Uncle Buck's Pond Prowler Boat for teenager.
I will tell you what I can, which should be a good amount, as I am 14, bought my own boat, and have participated in a few boat restorations. To start. Lets knock restoration out of the question. A 100 dollar fixer upper will just about equal, and often surpass the price of an equivalent used boat. People restore boats for the fun of doing it, and your situation doesn't seem like you would want that kind of thing. Stay away from that. Second, I wouldn't go with the bass hunter thingy. Get an aluminum. I personally have a 1997 12 foot Grumman Vee, with 1988 Evinrude 4 deluxe (which is identical to the 4.5 listed previously - in the mid eighties, the ratings were changed - ABSOLUTE best motors around. I know people who have owned 47 outboards, and this was their best) We bought it for 500 bucks, and that included a shorelander jon boat trailer that was made for a 16 foot jon. The pricing gets goofy here, as we swapped trailers as we had a 12 foot jon trailer already, and sold this trailer with our old jon. But, in the end, the boat, motor, trailer, and much of the wiring was 600 bucks. Then, I spent another 80 on a used Eagle fishmark 320. And another 325 for a lightly used MK 50 pound powerdrive. This is where I spent extra, as I wanted the same motor to be used on the Lund we are restoring as well. A cheaper 30 pound woulda dun just fine on this boat. Bow mount used 30 pound motors can be found for less than 100 bucks. I then spent another 75 on an interstate Group 27 deep cycle battery. (I get them cheaper than retail, as dads shop sells them. He orders whatever we want at factory price) Add in another 100 for other stuff I have added, I am still under 1200 bucks. And, I splurged on a lot of this stuff. Good 12 - 14 jons with good motors and trailers can be found cheap if you spend enough time and ask around. Ours came from a widow who was selling off her husbands stuff and didn't know market value. Ugly don't matter. Still catches fish. Start with just a jon and TM, and add stuff as you get the funds. I spent the first 600 that I had been saving for 4 years, in January and starting using the boat/motor/trailer. Then, I got a good job opportunity in the spring (spread a few hundred bales of pinestraw) and worked my butt off for a few weeks and got the money for the TM and fishfinder, and a few smaller doodads. As I get the money, I have future plans for it, but it has been a functional boat ever since we first got it. Sorry for being long winded. But, I would recommend going aluminum, and starting simple, and working your way up. You can still do just fine and stay under 1000 bucks, if you only buy used, and wait for a good deal. Even your bass hunter boat will cost you close to that as the boat you were pointing at is 700 bucks, and a 30 pound TM and battery will be about 150, fishfinder will be 100, and you will need other accessories. Getting one used will be cheaper, maybe 500 bucks once you get most accessories that he will want. And, you can only expand one of those so much, before being stuck. A jon or vee gives SO MUCH more expansion room. Take it from someone who has a lot of experience in this. Wait it out to afford what he really wants, as opposed to getting something that is not great, but all one can afford now. Go with the jon.

Help fishing lily pads.
For the report. This lake has been changed from no tackle limits, other than certain live baits, which they didn't want infestating their water, to a lake that only allows single hook artificials. This is because the stream that feeds it, is a wild trout stream. In NC, you can only catch wild trout on single hook artificials. So I was limited on the baits to throw. I fished that lake three times last week. First time was from about 5 pm to dark. I started fishing a friends homemade senko, and caught one just over a pound within ten casts. My sister, who had one of the cameras, was walking on the other side of the lake, and my dad, who had the other, ran back into town to get something. So I just threw him back. Then, when dad got back, he pointed into the water at a bass in the chop between two patches of pads. I casted about 6 feet off his head. He swam over as fast as he could, and snatched up that lure. brought him in, and he was a whopping 2 and a half pounds, which is, sadly, my personal best. Dad had forgotten his camera, so I held the fish in the water, so he sprinted around the lake to get my sister. Just as she was coming around the corner, I lost my guard, and the bass made a strong jerk, and got away, and I dang near followed him in. I cannot say how dissapointed I was at losing him within seconds of a camera. Talking to everyone there, I was the only one who had caught anything, much less a 2 and a half pounder. Even the live bait folks (the single hook rule is so new, that few knew about it, and the rangers were just informing of the rule, and not ticketing it, or counting against one in any way) The next day, we were there about the same time, and I skunked. A few days later, we went there in the morning, and again, I skunked. On that day though, I was talking to a ranger, and commented on my 2 and a half pounder, and she was suprised, saying that this has never been stocked. I knew they hadn't stocked it with trout, as they wouldn't ruin a wild trout fishery with hatchery trout, so I thought maybe she thought I had meant trout (Hadn't said what species - just 2 1/2 pounder) So I said, no it was a largemouth. She said they hadn't stocked it with anything. The only one stocked on this section of the Blue Ridge Parkway, was Price lake. These bass were descendants of whatever Moses Cone put in there in the mid eighteen hundreds. That really suprises me, as I cannot catch fish stocked yesterday, much less fish that have been from a bloodline going back a 100 years, which must be a genetically super fish, to live that long through the lakes ups and downs.

attaching aluminum angle
I think pics of your boat would be real helpful. Plus, we just love seeing pics of boats in progress. (least I do)

Carpet alternative...?
Too heavy. The can of Tuff Coat is actually lighter than an equal size can of paint (haven't weighed them, but it feels lighter)

9.9 cover
Do you have the cover for the 15? If so, a new coat of paint, and some 9.9 stickers would do the trick. There are quite a few ebay stores that sell just outboard motor stickers. Never hurts to repaint a cowl neither. Or, just get a cover for a 9.9. The engine is the same size, so a 9.9 cover will fit just fine. You can find covers on ebay from time to time, as well as any boat junkyard, or if you can find a shot motor, take the cowl, and UPS the rest of the motor to me.

Help fishing lily pads.
tis true. So from shore I would definitly use t rigged plastics and hollow body frogs. A real fun thing when it works is to trig a weightless lizard or hollow body frog and pitch or swim it on top of one the pads. Just let it sit there. And sit there. Then let it sit some more. Then plop it into the water. KA_BOOM. when it works it's one of the coolest ways to catch em. Three weeks ago, I was a small pond, that has a LOT of dead vegetation. Their were some openings in it, but other than that, it was THICK. I was using a weightless 6 inch finesse worm, and it would sit on top of the vegetation unless I pulled it through, so I would let it sit, and kinda jerk it over the edge into an opening and they were killing it. 11 keepers in 4 days, when I averaged about 30 minutes a day. Not bad.
