  1. 18 years for us, couldn’t imagine being any happier with someone than I am with my lovely bride.
  2. Well, doesn’t look too bad at all. How’d ya do it, drop a big fat raccoon down on a rope?😏
  3. That looks like a fun day for sure. I’ve never hunted them ( not too many around here unless you go somewhere where they’ve been released). One day I’ll have to give it a try though.
  4. Got the sled out for a few laps of the fields this afternoon. We only have about 6” of snow, so I wasn’t going on any long distance adventures, but still got to shake off the cobwebs.
  5. Needs more winter filth on it 😏
  6. I don’t target bass here much in the the spring, as most of our seasons for them are closed till later, but I can say for sure that once we get a few weeks of warmer weather after ice out, while pike fishing I often find tons of monster bass anywhere flowing water enters a lake. I’d bet that once May rolls around, right about the time the blackflys get thick, you’ll find some fish in that river for sure.
  7. Plenty of black Zukes out there that aren’t SS. Mines a 2015, and pretty much all the Suzukis I’ve seen around here are black.
  8. It depends on how early you’re looking to get out there I’d say. I know around here ( pretty much just about as far north as you are in Maine), usually any moving water is often cooler than the still water of lakes/ponds first thing after the ice goes out. I’ve never seen a lot of action in moving water until well into May when things start to warm up all around. Guess you’ll never know till you try it though, might as well give it a go and see what’s out there.
  9. Learned a bunch of random things on here, from little fishing “tweaks” to what I’d normally use in my area, to any and everything in people’s everyday lives all over North America. Like others have said, it’s really cool to get to know others all over the continent, and the planet really, that enjoy bass fishing like myself. I feel like I’ve gained some friendships on here. Even though I’ll likely never meet them in person, it feels like they’re just down the road from me👍🏻.
  10. 3038E with a 60” blower, 66” brush hog and a back blade. We have 25 acres, half of that is fields to cut, and two driveways to clean. We’re also looking at starting a cut flower farm too so I’m getting a tiller for it next spring to start making some beds.
  11. We’ve got about 10” of snow in the last day or so. Got the new John Deere out today after work with the blower installed on back. That sure makes quick work of my two driveways! Didn’t even break a sweat either like with the walk behind 👍🏻. Supposed to get fairly warm here tomorrow, then be close to the freezing mark for a while with no real crazy amounts of snow in the future forecast, so I won’t get to play with the new toy for a while, but I’m ok with that.
  12. Got home today just in time to see this big fella cruising around my property. He crossed my entire 25 acres twice, and I got a bunch of pics and video of him. He was here a couple mornings ago as well, nice big 10 pointer. This pic is right behind my house. Here’s why he was hanging around. These 5 ladies were bedded down right behind my barn first thing this morning when I was loading the truck for work. Guess one of them must still be in heat and he’s cruising around looking for her.
  13. I love that T-shirt! You holding that bass the same way makes it look like one of those never ending mirror images 😄
  14. Man that looks like a ton of un @Bluebasser86 We don’t have kitty’s like that up here, but there are some decent channels in a few spots, but I’ve never tried for them.
  15. Don’t you have a new one coming any day now? Send that “piece of junk” back to the dealership with all your filth, let them deal with it 😏.
  16. I had a small island project to do on Georgian Bay this week, and the weather finally cooperated for me to get out there. Started out a bit chilly, as it was several deg below freezing in the morning, but warmed up nicely all day and the winds stayed fairly light. On the way back in from my job, I hit a couple deep shoals with a drop shot, and they were loaded up on them. Nothing over about 3lbs, but lots of action, and it sure was nice to get the string stretched out one last time on such a beautiful late fall day. Looks like we’re supposed to maybe start getting some decent snow squalls later next week, so the boat will be going to bed for the winter this weekend, but I sure am glad I was able to get out one last time.
  17. Headed out this morning to my last water access job on my list for this year. Was a pleasant ride out on Georgian Bay, although I didn’t get in a big rush to go for a swim at lunch though 😄.
  18. Our gang did one push this morning. Our newest member of the camp got his first deer today, nice little 6 pointer. That gives us 5 nice deer so far, and our huge moose from October. Gonna try again next Saturday one more time then that’ll be it for us. Should be lots of tasty steaks, sausage and burger for everyone.
  19. Our guys too! Had a great uncle that didn’t come home, and my grandfather was in England for a few years. He was a mechanic and body man fixing jeeps, tanks etc.
  20. It is a pretty amazing sight to see so many large, wild animals in one small area. Couple guys scurried behind some large trees and one guy slid behind his parked atv when they came stampeding through. You do not want to get in front of a running moose! Around here there’s quite a few guys that sit in blinds or stands for deer as well. Still plenty of deer camps around though, it’s as much of a get together with good friends as it is the actual hunt for many of us. For many years the only way I hunted deer was by still hunting. Basically just pack a lunch, grab my rifle and sneak quietly through the bush all day long. I’d cover up to 20 miles a day some days, just me sneaking up on wild, big woods deer, no crop fields or bait around. About as close to being a wild predator as you can get, and one of the hardest, and most satisfying ways to harvest game that I’ve ever done.
  21. Yup, we have a very interesting area that’s almost 50/50 moose to whitetails. Usually, even around my neck of the woods where there’s both species, if you have a small area that holds many moose, the deer will not really hang around. Where we hunt, you have just as good a chance to see either one. When we did that particular push ( about 8 guys on specific watches, and 2 guys “dog” the bush, basically they wander through the area to push the deer towards the pinch points where the watchers are), we had 3 huge bulls, 3 cows and 2 calves all come out at once. It was like they were having a big block party at the one large dried up swamp, and the cops all showed up and they had to split 😄.
  22. Hope things turn for the better for both of you. Keep strong.
  23. Just got back today from four days at our hunt camp. Got three small bucks on the game pole ( very tender meat @TnRiver46😏), couple does that guys missed, saw a huge buck yesterday that we couldn’t get a decent shot at, and on one run in the afternoon we saw 8 moose, three of which were huge bulls. Was a great time at the camp, with lots of critters around too. We’re still going to hunt the next couple weekends so I’m sure we’ll get another deer or two as well.
  24. That roofline in the first pic is a real doozy! I can just imagine the glacier that would build up behind that overhang in my neck of the woods from Dec to March 😏. Wouldn’t last one winter here before the roof would be leaking terribly.
