  1. Take apart every connection and clean it, this fixes most issues
  2. Check out Minnesota's DNR R3 program, it does a great job of outlining barriers that get people fishing. Any interesting thought, don't teach kids, teach parents, so the can go more often with kids
  3. Seems like it would be easy to assemble these with EWG hood, split ring and swivel, but am curious if anyone has found a good wire to use?
  4. I have a 7'6" cronos extra fast. great for light hair jis. longer is better
  5. Diawa Neko baits are $2.48 a bag, sweet deal!
  6. I mostly only fish what I am confident in, and therefore only buy what I am confident in. I only try a few new things a year
  7. It seemed that everyone was excited when these came out, but a season into it I don't see many people saying great things. I own one and love how light it is. I lost a really nice smallmouth when the drag stuck, but I attribute that to user error on adjusting the drag when a fish was running. looking at online reviews from retailers, I have seen a lot of negative reviews, not what you should expect for a $180 reel. What are the thoughts from others that own them? I know a lot of people will say go with the Shimano Stradic Ci4, but the Tatula already goes past what I feel comfortable spending on a spinning reel.
  8. So I tried a 110 WP last year and loved it. But I can't decide what type of rod to use. I first tried a 7'6" MH/F and loved how far I could launch it, but missed several strikes from what I believe was too fast of a rod. My other time using it I put it on a 7' Cabelas crankbait rod. I felt I lost about 30-40% of my casting distance but landed almost every fish that hit it. So what types of rods are out there that will let me chuck this thing a mile, bit still have a slow enough action to not rip the bait out of their mouth? Follow up, there is a new Curado split grip coming out that is a 7'6" Med/Hvy with a moderate fast action, this may fit what I am looking for, anyone see one in person yet?
  9. I love my cronos 7'6" m/ml XR for the feider fly. Longer is better for light jigs Should add that light line is also your friend
  10. Did you get the ice bundle? How well did it work on the boat? Worth the money?
  11. What are your favorite spinnerbaits for bass feeding on gills?
  12. Heading up this weekend, plan on dropshoting isolated boulders, any other patterns producing lately?
  13. When fishing isolated boulders, I cruise around with SI on my helix, when I see a boulder I curser over quick to drop a waypoint on the big rocks I see. The issue is that when I curser over it pauses the screen until I hit exit, this takes a few seconds and when I hit exit it goes back to real time and I can't see anything I scanned from when I started moving curser until I make a waypoint and hit exit. I'm afraid I can be missing boulders this way. Any way to fix this? Do I need a blank memory card?
  14. If you want the matching jacket, sierra trading post has them for $50. I ordered from each place. Full rain suit for $75, not bad
  15. Anyone order from these guys? I see mixed reviews online if they are legit or not.
  16. Line stretch affects sensitivity. The big smallies I have got have been very light bites.
  17. Anyone ever use the 7'6 spinning rod? I have a 7'6 Diawa Cronos and love it for hair jigs and neko, curious if this would compare to get a 2nd rod for better price
  18. Mono can be used for anything, but braid to floro will have less stretch and me more sensitive. So you can use it, but floro is better if you can afford it
  19. I'm looking at getting the ice bundle (live in MN). Would love to hear from anyone that has used this kit on open water. How well does it work? Did you make a mount for the transducer bracket? I don't want to mount the ducer on my trolling motor because I use spot lock a lot.
  20. I have had good luck with Diawa's neko worm (the skinny one) also the original 5" senko does great neko rigged.
  21. Depends on what you do. If all you do is fish visual cover then it's not needed. But if get off the bank its huge. I don't use it to find bass, I use it to find their home. My best smallmouth 21"+ was found on an isolated boulder in the middle of mille lacs, dropped right on it, would have never caught it without side imageing
