  1. For KC guys or anyone visiting the city: http://www.kansascity.com/news/breaking_news/story/1234005.html My brother-in-law is the manager of both restaurants. 8-)
  2. I hope you opted for a replica rather than a skin mount! :
  3. My main rig for soft plastics, especially weightless presentations, is a St. Croix ES70MF/ Stella 2500FB/ Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6. Spinning gear is a better option for weightless rigging because it eliminates the risk of a massive backlash when the bait goes "air born". 8-)
  4. Geez... You guys need some more time on the water and off the puter. We just proved we can start a food fight even if the strawberry shortcake is homemade and fresh! Good night Irene -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  5. The Thermos Bottle When you fill a thermos with something hot, it stays hot. When you fill a thermos with something cold, it stays cold. How do it know?
  6. Woo-hoo! Nice fish, great pics! 8-)
  7. Equipment: 7' Medium Power/ Fast Action 2500 series reel: Shimano Symetre or Stradic Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test) KVD Line & Lure Conditioner It is important to have a "full" spool of line. That means filling the spool to within 1/8" of the lip. When you have gone through some line, replace 80 yards or so, you don't need to replace all of the line. With this set up you should be able to cast a 5" Senko at least 30 yards. 8-)
  8. Too cool! Nice fish, great pic. 8-)
  9. Looks like it to me: http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Animals/ReptilesAmphibians/Facts/FactSheets/Blackratsnake.cfm 8-)
  10. No, you will like the way it handles on a baitcaster very much. 8-)
  11. It counts if you say it counts! I like to get them in the boat or on the bank, but unless we're talking size, I don't really care. 8-)
  12. Just late to the party... Good night Irene -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  13. Excellent advice! Start browsing through the BassResource.com Library at the top of the page, "Fishing Articles" and "Tacklebox". Read these articles and links attached. Good luck! 8-)
  14. My dedicated rig for weighted soft plastics is spooled with #15 Yo-Zuri Hybrid. My jig rig is, too. All other baitcasters are strung with #12 Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft. For spinning tackle I use both #4 and #6. 8-)
  15. They will upgrade, but would prefer sending you the replacement to swap-out yourself. I upgraded through BPS and simply paid the difference. I brought the new rod to the store, unopened, swapped for a GLX MBR844C and sent the broken rod back in the tube sent. The entire transaction was seamless. BTW...My broken rod was a victim of "STUPID", too. 8-)
  16. Fish the Lobster on an Evolution Shak-e2 jig head, but be careful... You might get your arm broken! 8-)
  17. Depending on the brand and how they are stored, indefinitely. I have a variety of GYCB soft plastics that were purchased in 1997. My dad gave me his tackle box a few years ago. Among the collectibles is an unopened bag of Creme Worms which appear to be in pristine condition. They might be 50 years old or more. http://www.cremelure.com/about_us.cfm 8-)
  18. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  19. 1. River fishing with live bait, multi-species. 2. Fishing soft plastics and jigs. 8-)
  20. CONGRATULATIONS!
  21. My dedicated rod is an Avid AVC70MF matched up with a Shimano Chronarch and Yo-Zuri Hybrid #12. 8-)
  22. Zara Puppy. This might be the most productive topwater lure you will ever fish, but it's a "numbers" lure. I have never caught anything big on the Puppy. The color you want is the Black Shiner: http://www.tackledirect.com/heddon-zara-spook-puppy-lures.html 8-)
