  1. 'bout time, huh? We should be at the low end of the range ($1.75-$2.25). $1.99 seems like a bargin, but we're still getting gigged! 8-)
  2. I fished P-Line CXX for several years before switching to Yo-Zuri Hybrid. "Breakage" and "toughness" were never an issue. 8-)
  3. $60.36 this morning. We might test $60 resistance today. Local retail prices in the Memphis area ranges from $1.99 to $2.15. 8-)
  4. Thank you for sharing a secret. I'll give this technique a try on the Tennessee River. 8-)
  5. Buy some JJ's Magic and your problem is solved. 8-)
  6. Yeah, I know..."Should have been here yesterday." Man, 9-13, CONGRATULATIONS! I'm fishing below Pickwick this Saturday. I doubt we'll see a 9+, but if we do, I hope it's brown! 8-)

  8. Here you go: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1141187546 As for specific recommendations: St. Croix Avid AVC66MF has a soft tip and is a freat all around rod for treble hook lures, spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. This my dedicated topwater and jerkbait stick. The 6 1/2' length makes working these lures a breeze. For light and medium weight crankbaits: AVC70MM Heavy and deep diving lures: Lamiglas SR705R which is on sale at Cabela's: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0037314120919a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCHFEAT_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntk=Products&QueryText=sr705r&sort=all&Go.y=10&_D%3AhasJS=+&N=0&Nty=1&hasJS=true&Go.x=20&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form23&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1 8-)
  9. Well, line is the most important tackle you use. A lot of guys are very passionate about the brand and size they fish...That would include me! :
  10. Yeah, I can go for her, too. I think Carrie Underwood is THE most beautiful celebrity. http://www.foxnews.com/photoessay/0,4644,5576,00.html#9_0 8-)
  11. CMA November 12: http://www.foxnews.com/photoessay/0,4644,5576,00.html I'm rooting for a sweep by Jennifer Nettles for "Stay". She sang this song at the Awards last year for the first time and brought the house down, I'm talkin' "knocked it out of the park!" It has become one of my All Time Favorites. ;D ;D
  12. Thanks for clearing that up. I don't recall the pic, I must have missed it if you posted, I wouldn't forget a fish like that! I want to also pay compliments to you for consistantly weighing big bass. I have no doubt about a weight you state, but the fish in the pic could easily be 15+ if it were someone else's! Seriously, that fat girl is beautiful. 8-)
  13. I guess I haven't been paying attention... Fish Chris preaches braid and I assumed that was the line of choice for all the big swimbait guys. Well, I guess I was wrong, but that's why we ask, isn't it? p.s. Didn't you recently post a story about breaking a rod in two places and boating an 11 1/2 lb bass by hand? I was thinking of that story when I responded and thought you specifically mentioned 65 lb braid. "Set the hook hard and something had to give..." 8-)
  14. WOW! I saw one just like that yesterday: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1225822638 :
  15. Welcome aboard! Man, if I were fishing the Great Lakes I would enroll in the U.S. Coast Guard Captain Licensing Course: http://www.occsailing.com/coast_guard_classes/us_coast_guard_captains_licensing_course Bass boats are really not designed with "big water" in mind. I think you would be miles ahead with a center console, deep hull design. Here's an example, minus the canopy: http://www.rangerboats.com/flash/gallery.cfm?mid=5511&series=saltwater 8-)
  16. Hmm... My partner bought one seveal years ago and he (we) have never used it. 8-)
  17. Yeah, right...I have fished with him a few times myself... Nice pic, I'm glad you guys hooked-up! 8-)
  18. Nice fish, great pics! 8-)
  19. Congratulations! 8-)
  20. Earlier on this thread I listed three jigs, but the common feature among them is the stand-up hook, just like you have on a Shak-E2 jig. This style keeps the trailer off the bottom and keeps the presentation from being buried in the rocks or clutter. I think the trailer is far more important than the jig when it comes to enticing a bite. My favorites are the GYCB Flappin' Hog and NetBaits Baby Paca Craw. 8-)
  21. I didn't appreciate his post and now it's gone. I fish small or medium swimbaits like Mattlures Baby Bass on regular bass gear and 12 lb copolymer. I think most swimbait guys that are throwing bigger lures use 65 lb braid, some with a leader, some direct tie. I'm sure some of our big lure guys will be by later and share their thoughts. 8-)
  22. This thread is currently running a few lines down on page 1: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1225567826 I know some guys use a different style for various situations or conditions, but many of use one style for everything. I like 1/2 oz grass jigs with stand-up hooks for everything. Re: Why do you fish the jig you fish? Reply #14 - Yesterday at 05:43:39 I fish 1/2 oz GMAN's jigs, 1/2 oz Micro Munch Tackle and 3/8 oz Evolution E2. All three have high quality, stand-up hooks, full, lively skirts and vibrant color. These jigs have all produced very well for me and I highly recommend them. 8-)
  23. I would go with the Stradic 2500 FI, awarded ICAST "Best In Class". 8-)
