Top chili with grated sharp cheddar cheese and a dab of sour cream; saltine crackers and pickles on the side. Tabasco sauce and/or a spash of vinegar is optional, but experiment with your own bowl, not the entire pot! 8-)
  2. Excellent! Nice fish, pics and story. ;D ;D ;D ;D
  3. No can do...I only need one more number for a BINGO! 8-)
  4. Tie the mono to the spool. I use an Arbor knot, but it doesn't really matter. Then connect the mono to the braid with a Blood Knot or Uni Knots or whatever you like. Here's the Blood Knot: http://www.animatedknots.com/bloodknot/index.php?LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com#Bachmann This is the Arbor Knot: http://www.animatedknots.com/arbor/index.php?LogoImage=LogoGrog.jpg&Website=www.animatedknots.com#Autoblock 8-)
  5. So, it's more than annoying, it's illegal! >
  6. The braid is slipping on the spool. You need ten yards of backing: mono, copolymer, fluoro, whatever you have doesn't matter. Problem solved, guaranteed! 8-)
  7. No doubt, Team Pampers has a big lead in the swimbait category. Although a few from Depends have taken up the technique, I expect your team to increase the lead. Some of us are stuck in the mud, but for most it's really about the workout. Small and medium swimbaits, up to a Mattlures Baby Bass for example, is about as far as you can go with standard bass gear. It's also about as much as some of us want to throw. 8-)
  8. We can't argue how well fourbizz and a few others have done with the "new" swimbait techniques. He has achieved a level that most of us can only dream of. Although he is a great example, Team Pampers has several members that have demonstrated superior talents. Conceding that many of you excel, also note the advantage you have if you pay atttention to your elders suggestions. Most of Team Depends share their proven techniques, location indicators and specific lure selections. For most of you, fishing Catt's way exclusively would improve your performance by at least 200%. I'm not discouraging experimentation or "thinking outside the box", but you can skip through a lot of the learning curve by paying close attention to the voices of experience. For example, quit playing with your little toys and put on a grown-up lure: go big or go home. Think "size" not "numbers". 4" worms and "keeper" fish don't cut it, step up to the plate and change your diapers! 8-)
  9. Scrap up the money, you need to see a doctor right now! I suspect gout: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gout
  10. Oil is $56.11 this morning. Local retail is $1.85 on average in the Memphis area. Equity futures are trading lower (DJIA -87). It looks like more of the same, trending down with continued volatility.
  11. Outstanding! ;D ;D ;D
  12. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  13. Hey now, started getting interested at 6-0, jumped on board at 8-0 and now, WOO-HOO! Go TITANS! p.s. I still love me some Broncos, too! 8-)
  14. 10-0 with the Jets next weekend. Win that game and it's 16-0! Kerry Collins is playing like the quarterback he was at Penn State: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerry_Collins 8-)
  15. Not a chance... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerry_Collins Titans, 10-0 with an easy schedule playing out. ;D ;D ;D ;D
  16. "Banging" a crankbait is just one of many presentations/techniques. The vast majority of my cranking is over structure without any contact. Structure holds the fish, they don't always need to be alerted to the presence of your lure. They came there to eat! 8-)
  17. Here are some of mine: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/smallmouth_record.html 8-)
  18. Well, I don't have a Curado E7, but all I have heard is good! I'm sure you would be very happy with this reel. On the other hand, I have a a Metanium and domestic Chronarch, as well as a Core, Calais and two CTE200GT. Thes are all fine reels, but my recommendation is still something slightly different. I think the CH50MG is the best value. I like the size for bass fishing and they seem to be built like a tank! Everyone I have ever know that fishing this reel has been pleased, very pleased. http://www.***.com/descpageRLCSHIMANO-SHCSF50.html 8-)
  19. I fish a St. Croix Legend Elite ES70MF. If you don't want to spend that much, I would suggest the Avid AVS70MF or AVS68MXF. This is the rod I use for all soft plastics and can be used for a variety of light and medium weight lures. 8-)
  20. Well, we both "knew better". There is no excuse, except for stupid, that anyone should be broken off in open water. Check your line, retie your knot (often) and set your drag properly, it's that simple. 8-)
  21. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  22. I would fish a trailer without a jig, but not the other way around. 8-)
