  6. Well, sure it's "possible" and we have several members who do just that, but it will be challenging and equipment comes into play, bigtime. I think most people are much better suited using spinning tackle to fish light lures. 8-)
  7. For most people weight gain is a huge issue, but not for you! Have something to munch on whenever you need a smoke: Red or black licorice, M&Ms, Hershey Bars, cashews, etc. when you are out and about. At home Eskimo Pies, popsicles, crackers with meat or cheese. Mix it up so you don't get bored and drink a lot of water! Another idea that worked for me many years ago was being hypnotised. I stopped cold turkey and went back a week later for reinforcement. I didn't have another puff for more than five years! Good luck! 8-)
  8. Buy green mono, it blends well with most water. 8-)
  9. GYCB 6 1/2" Kahuna Kut-Tail and the 3/8 oz Evolution ShakE2 8-)
  10. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  11. And any fish that gets away automatically doubles in size! 8-)
  12. You have to weigh a fish on a scale to know exactly what that particular fish weighs. As George Welcome pointed out, bass from different regions vary significantly in shape and density. This chart estimates "averages" based on sampling done by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation measured across New York State. ** Individual results will vary ** 8-)
  13. Smallmouth from northern waters take 10-14 years to reach 5 lbs, but may live to be 19. In Southern waters a smallmouth can reach 5 lbs in 4-5 years, but rarely lives past 10. Of special note, the World Record was 13 years old. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/smallmouth_record.html 8-)
  14. Download these tables for future reference. The numbers are not perfect for every fish you might catch, but close! http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/9222.html The two numbers of special note are 20.5" for largemouth and 22" for smallmouth. 8-)
  15. We have had a lot of discussion about Vanish over the years. Some like it, others hate it. I'm in camp with fishfordollars, but maybe you will have better luck. :
  16. CNBC, real time; Bloomberg, delayed. The trade quotes are NYM WTI (New York Mercantile Exchange, West Texas Intermediate) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Texas_Intermediate 8-)
  17. I look forward to meeting you at the 4th Annual Bass Resource.com Roadtrip on Kentucky Lake. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior 8-)
  18. What about watermelon with black flake, ya think that would work? ;D ;D ;D
  19. The point is that banging a fish on the floor of the boat is despicable! Flipping a fish into the boat is quite common on a number of fishing shows as well as tournament clips. Buy a rubber net and use it... p.s. If you use a rubber net, nearly every fish you catch and do not intend to keep can be unhooked and released without leaving the water. 8-)
  20. Welcome aboard! These articles and attached links should help: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/seasonal.html#fall 8-)
  21. Currently $94.74
  22. I'm looking forward to meeting you, too! 8-)
