  1. Interesting, but not valuable.
  2. Put on your warmest outerwear, get a bottle of whiskey, go out in the garage and have a seat. You will probably catch the same number of fish with or without a rod.
  3. Rules of thumb in Tennessee: What ever range they forecast for wind, add them together . 10-15 mph = 25mph There is ALWAYS a 20% chance of rain in the spring. The long range forecast is HOT in July and HOTTER in August. Even if it "might" snow, it is NEVER expected.
  4. Welcome aboard! I am fishing ToHo and Stick Marsh/ Farm 13 at the end of the month. Can hardly wait.
  5. I'm going to stick with the Alberto Knot...
  6. G.Loomis PR844C which is also my dedicated topwater rod.
  7. Interesting observation.
  8. I spool Armilo for both jerkbaits and crankbaits. Otherwise, my preference is Tatsu for mainline or Gold Label as leader for Smackdown braid. I fish tubes exclusively on spinning tackle and #6 line.
  9. I prefer MF for everything that requires a firm hookset. ML spinning tackle is reserved for live bait, mostly trout and crappie.
  10. Another "secret" is line diameter. I fish #4, but #6 is more popular. Also, I use Gamakatsu Octopus Circle Hooks #6. Fish both sides of the river positioning the boat so your cast is 10-15' from the bank. Try to drift at the same speed as the current. Cast upstream and reel in when your bait is perpendicular to the boat. You want to bounce the bottom, but not drag it. You are going to get hung up a lot, so just deal with it. The docks are special as is the pool in front of the Botel (Bill Dance Hole). The other significant landmark is outside the rift under the power lines. Stay on the outside. On the other side, keep fishing past the power lines down the ridge, but don't cast over the rocks. Good luck!
  11. Neither for me. I catch too many little fish and would never target more. Don't care a thing about getting skunked either. I know the next Good'un is just a cast away and it might be a Big'un, too!
  12. Maybe the left side.
  13. Three stage system #1 Man Cave with pegboards, shelving and Plano boxes #2 Plano 3700 tackle bag with a little bit of everything I might need for a trip https://www.planomolding.com/guide-series-tackle-bag-xl-3700 #3 Plano Series 2.0 for day fishing https://www.planomolding.com/a-series-2-0-tackle-bag
  14. No time to quite down here. January and February are the best moths for trophy smallmouth on the Tennessee River.
  15. Plan a trip to Florida or Texas. I'm headed to ToHo and Stick Marsh/ Farm 13 later this month. This is PRIME TIME in the southern states!
  16. If properly maintained the reel will last a lifetime.
