I recently sold several Shimano reels that are more than ten years old. They are better than "brand new". If you take care of your reels, Shimano will last a lifetime. I sold them simply because I am interested in the newest models and these could be the last reels I ever buy.

Those lures are fine. I'll suggest a couple more: Rage Tail Menace, BPS Tender Tube #71 and the Alabama Rig.

Watermelon / red flake is a mainstay everywhere and especially around here.

I like the Sworming Hornet/ LFT Live Magic Shad.

Everyone has a favorite and I think they all work about the same. The most productive color is probably the one you fish the most! I like Cinnamon and Black with blue flakes, they compliment my rods & reels. Red Shad is another cool color as long as you have matching heels and purse.

Guys have lots of colors because they can afford them and most importantly, it makes their Plano worm box colorful and cool. However, you only NEED three: Watermelon with black flakes, Watermelon with red flakes and Green Pumpkin.

You don't actually "cook" the corn, you just heat it. Three minutes in boiling water.
