  1. $700 new https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-SHIMNOREEL.html?from=basres
  2. Another option to consider: Gently used Stella. I have four including the original FA series. My average cost is less than $300 for six or seven over the years as I have upgraded to newer models over time. If you are patient these reels pop up in our Flea Market occasionally.
  3. Just be sure your dress, heels and purse don't clash.
  4. You don't "need" different gear, but I prefer technique specific tackle.
  5. Getting ready to rumble. May need to sample the whiskey today to be sure it's right! I think the spread is still 2 1/2 points which I think is too tight. Post up your prediction. I'm still 45-27 New England.
  6. You need a Tramp Stamp to go with your new reel.
  7. Perfect!
  8. I don't know exactly where you are, but all of the Tennessee reservoirs are your best options.
  9. Well, there are fish up shallow, but the higher percentage is deeper this time of year. Fish primary points and the dam.
  10. HMM... Maybe it's time to move. The Russians send their adversaries to Siberia. What are you charged with? I suspect the ice-out will be delayed. How long does 4' of ice take to melt?
  11. Switch to the Red Eye Shad, it's like changing from black & white to a color TV.
  12. NO...Gotta stay sober while you grill...Beer, Scotch, food. (Beer and wine don't count).
  13. My 4 year old granddaughter told my wife "G-Pa likes to play Princesses with me, but he doesn't remember all of their names...He needs to practice."
  14. I'm smok'n baby backs with baked beans, potato salad, slaw and Texas toast. What's on your plate?
  15. No and we are not expecting any. BTW, looks like high 50s, maybe 60 this weekend!
  16. Patriots 45 Rams 27 And the game will not be that close.
  17. My older rods are 20+ years old and PERFECT in every way. For the past several years I have been switching to custom rods. I have given some of my favorites to my brother that just recently came back to the sport. One of them is my all time favorite, G. Loomis GLX 844C. The old rods I still have are these: G. Loomis PR844C, PR844S, BCR854 , BCR 894 and a Lamiglas SR705R.
  18. Burr... 35* high for today, only 27* tomorrow and 17* for the overnight low. We recover to the mid 40s on Thursday, but that is still too cold for us Southern boys to get out.
  19. WOW! I am not going to argue with our resident scientist, but this would not be in line with my experience over the past 22+ years of serious bass fishing. My guys dress "dull" just because that' the way they are, but sometimes that meas bright red! I can't get my arms around any connection with one's clothing.
  20. He was a General Contractor, but the name went back to when he was a kid. "Madewell" was his real family name. He was my best friend, but he is in Heaven now.
  21. Well, I'm right there with you, but when I catch that 12 lb 1 oz smallmouth she's going on the wall!
  22. The 300 might be a better choice, the 400 is a beast.
