  1. This is what I want to know, pretty much in order of importance: 1. On river reservoirs, how much water release is there? 2. Are the fish more focused on bottom contact tackle or moving baits? 3. What is the specific depth where active bass are holding? 4. Is there specific structure or cover that seems most favorable right now?
  2. Welcome aboard!
  3. Nope, just suck it up. My VERY BEST DAY ever was on a Bass Resource RoadTrip a few years ago. 78 bass in 1 day!
  4. Well, for more than a decade I have been following these threads here on the Forum. My takeaway is that Prime Time is 10:00 AM- 2:00 PM, low light (dusk & dawn) and at night, So, have brunch around 9:00 AM, a late lunch and dinner by moonlight!
  5. Hmm... Have you considered Shimano? We have a few guys that swear by them.
  6. The guys I know with sponsors have ALWAYS been approached, never solicited.
  7. I think you might be surprised just how many of our older members still fish spincasting equipment.
  8. I think a lot of us just like experimenting with different lines. If you were just looking for a single brand for everything, my recommendation is Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6 for spinning gear, #12 for baitcasting. Other lines I like are Izorline #10, P-Line #10, Seaguar Tatsu #12, Sunline Defier Armilo #10 and Tuf-Line Tournament 8 (braid) #40 with a fluorocarbon leader.
  9. I think you will find that a lot of color combinations work well. I suggest a couple of specifics that have been good to me: Siebert Outdoors 3/8 oz Swim Jig (Bluegill)/ Rage Tail Shellcracker (Hard Candy) Rage Tail Rage Blade (White)/ Rage Structure Bug (White) Siebert Outdoors Foggy/ Bluebasser86 Wobble Head/ Z-Man Project Z or Rage Blade naked with a Rage Tail Cut-R trailer...Your favorite color!
  10. Well, you should have some early grass and Guntersville is noted for lipless cranks. I caught a fine bass on a Fat Ika a couple of years ago. 7.49 lbs: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/lake-guntersville-2012.html
  11. Man, that lake is on fire! Have you caught any Florida strain?
  12. I doesn't have to be heavy. Try this: Outside arms, LFT Live Magic Shad rigged on Gamakatsu 3?0 EWR Offset Worm Hooks, no weight. Inside Arm, Johnson Silver Minnow. Whatever rod you are currently using for jigs or weighted soft plastics will work just fine.
  13. This might help: If you want specific suggestions give us a budget.
  14. If you want something that will last, the Zebco Omega is a very nice spincast reel.
  15. http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/ Pick your poison, guys have every possible combination that is "special" for them. The most popular color is black with a blue trailer. Second is probably Black & Blue with a blue trailer. I am a big fan of PBJ and a matching trailer. Nearly everyone will also carry some variation of Green Pumpkin.
  16. Geez! CONGRATULATIONS!
  17. The line is rated 8.5 lb breaking strength, but when you hang up long-lining on the Tennessee River you have to spend some time getting behind the lure or it's toast! I have had a few GREAT smallmouth days using this lure, but frankly, I am not sure it's the best choice around here. Although it is very productive, it's a pain to fish. I prefer a tube or a jig that I do not have to retrieve if it gets hung.
  18. I'm fishing #4 Yo-Zuri Hybird on spinning tackle.
