  1. One of our members bought one of those Chinese knock-offs last year and hyped it here, but never followed through with a review. I would stay away from this junk unless you just like flushing money down the toliet.
  2. Guys use just about every soft plastic on the Carolina Rig. My most productive is the Rage Tail Eeliminator. Give it a try and see what you think!
  3. It's good to be lucky! A lot of lures are fished on slack line. One of my favorites is the Sworming Hornet/ LFT Live Magic Shad. 100% of the strikes occur on the drop. If the lure stops before you reach the bottom, set the hook. As you reel it up if you just feel "something", set the hook!
  4. WTI $58.07
  5. I am in the same boat. The majority of my stuff is stored/ displayed in the Man Cave. I carry maybe 25% in the "big bag" and use about 5% of that! As an example, my collection of jerkbaits is impressive, but I think I only use three regularly and maybe a total of 8 over the past 10 years or so. Still, I'll probably pick up a couple more this year! Back on topic, I fish my favorite color or something that is specifically working for my compdres. I have a pretty large network of retired guys and semi-pros that fish Pickwick almost everyday. They are "in touch". Last spring the Magic Lure was a small tube, BPS 3 1/2" Tender Tube, Green Pumpkin Pepper #71. You might think something else would be just fine...WRONG! So, I agree with ww2farmer that most of the time color isn't all that important, but sometimes it's critical.
  6. Whether fished or not, there is just something about the detail that makes Japanese lures desirable. "Collecting" is a big part of the sport for me.
  7. They are designed to be separated.
  8. WTI $59.65 $2.02 is the price leader around here, but the majority are still trying to hold +/- $2.20 http://www.memphisgasprices.com/
  9. MegaStrike Cavitron (black on black) Megabass PopMax (Tonosama Frog) Rage Tail Shad Zara Spook LC Sammy LC Gunfish Jitterbug Devil's Horse
  10. Good friends, great seats and an electrified setting. Sounds like a special weekend to me. Good luck!
  11. The Tennessee River is mostly rock. I think you will be impressed.
  12. No, you reel quickly about 5 turns without moving your rod, then let it fall again on slack line. Repeat this sequence until you feel you are out of the zone.
  13. After a few trips I'm sure you guys have your gear fine tuned. So what are you using?
  14. Borrow one first. Most guys love them, but I hated mine. They are VERY confining and the wind is a BIG factor. Add a dog to the mix and I think you might reconsider.
  15. C'mon... You have plenty of business savy. Do you think putting 100-200 bucks back into a family budget each month might be a net positive for the overall economy?
  16. You don't need to buy any white bugs, just send me your address in a PM and I will mail you a few. -Kent
  17. Rapala DT16 Not technically labeled as a jerkbait, but it can be fished like one.
  18. (1) Try the Rage Blade using a white Rage Structure Bug rigged horizontal (flat). (2) Remove the skirt and fish the Rage Blade with a Cut-R trailer (tail down). The Rage Blade is designed to fish slow. Try to tick the bottom on retrieve and pop it occasionally. This is a presentation I was taught by The Master.
  19. Regardless of the size, bass punish an Alabama Rig.
  20. ...others have a completely different experience and opinion. That statement is so true. Isn't it great to have so many options available? I suggest people experiment several different lines. For the past year or so I have been fishing a number of brands: Seaguar Red Label, InvizX, AbrazX, Tatsu and Kanzen; TUF-Line Heavy Core, Tournament 8 and Supercast; Izorline, Sniper and Sunline Super Natural, Berkley NanoFil and P-Line CXX. So, part of this was using sponsored line and the rest just to have a "hands-on" experience with these other lines. I have stated my opinions, BUT "your results will vary".
