  1. I don't think much about "The Curse", but the best teams don't always win. Once the play-offs begin it's one and done. I doubt that anyone, including die hard Giants fans, think New York was the better team in 2007, but they beat the Patriots. If anyone is "cursed" it's Tom Brady vs Eli.
  2. Silver Buddy and G a y Blade. If you decide to fish these, buy a few, they hand up easily. I think light line makes a HUGE difference, so you will lose a few, it's just the price of poker.
  3. #16 George Welcome (IP: 67.35.112.245) George WelcomeI love bass fishing! Members 1,825 posts 0 warning points Posted August 22 2007 - 10:37 AM Let's get technical, as there are in fact reasons, not just some lame holdover from days past that put the handles where they are. What will move the fish during retrieval is placed to the strong hand! A baitcast is designed to be used as a winch, so it is the reel that retrieves the fish. Hence if you are right handed the handle is in your right hand. A spinning reel is designed to pick up unloaded or loose line, not retrieve the fish. Hence it is the rod that does the retrieval, so it is the rod that is in your strong hand. If you are right handed then the pole goes to the right hand.
  4. Well, some techniques require lighter line. I find that this makes a SIGNIFICANT difference targeting smallmouth on the Tennessee River. Landing 7 & 8lb brown fish in strong current requires a reel with a great drag system and a bit of finesse on #4 Yo-Zuri Hybrid or #6 Tatsu.
  5. I would go just a little bit heavier, maybe 3/16-5/8 oz. You really need a price range if you want some specific recommendations.
  6. I use it on the middle arm of some of my Alabama Rigs.
  7. http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/ I am particularly impressed with the Big O
  8. Devil's Horse
  9. Yep, try your "favorite" soft plastic, it MIGHT work! I prefer the MegaStrile Shak e2 Pro Series. Here is aother suggestion that I have had good luck with: MegaStrike Tube Craw http://www.megastrikefishingproducts.com/shop/mega-tube-soft-plastic/
  10. Here's a fish that liked the Fat Ika, too! http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/lake-guntersville-2012.html
  11. If you want confidence in knowing the job was done right, Mike is your man!
  12. I had Mike at DVT supertune both a CU100 & CU50. They did not turn black, but they are VERY close to my Core.

  14. AVC66MF is my favorite jerkbait rod. For medium weight crankbaits, especially squarebills, the AVC70MM is a great rod.
  15. Don't be an ole stick in the mud. You can afford anything you like. Treat yourself to something new, top-end and exotic. I bet you would REALLY enjoy something special! I'm thinking MegaBass or Loomis NRX rod and a Stella 2500FE. I know you like braid, but spool this rig up with Tatsu #6. If you can land a 10-12lb Florida Strain largemouth on this gear you will forget about saltwater fishing from the shore.
  16. What's important is your drag setting. If your are between 2 1/2 and 3lbs you can use any line exceeding recommendations.
  17. I think this pretty much sums it up.
  18. Some people collect stamps, others collect cars and a lot of guys here collect fishing tackle. You certainly don't need to spend a lot of dough just to "catch" bass, but what you use MIGHT make the "fishing" part more fun. There is a lot of diversity in brands even among the very best fishermen. On our road trips guys from all over the country bring what is special to them, but there are several brands that nearly everyone has. I'm always happy to see our guys having success with our sponsors products. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/lake-guntersville-2012.html BTW, that fish was caught on a Fat Ika, not one of our sponsored products, but one I recommend everyone carry in their bag! http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/13845-guaranteed-to-catch-bass/
  19. WOO-HOO! CONGRATULATIONS!
  20. You're probably right, but right now we are a little short of the 42,832 I had in mind!
