  1. There is probably a fundemental cause that does not involve your bearings. I suggest sending the reel to Mike at DVT.
  2. No... I quit using this junk because it broke while casting.
  3. Too long for a trailer, but just fine for a T-rig, C-rig or Rage Rig.
  4. Most people will find retrieving moving baits, deep divers and heavier lures much more comfortable with baitcasting equipment. Although I use both types of equipment, my recent bout with "fishing elbow" currently restricts me to spinning tackle. For me at least, I don't like spinning tackle for anything but weightless soft plastics and live bait.
  5. You guys need some chicks in your videos!
  6. It's a lubricant. If you don't like spit, use Chapstick.
  7. I like to work flukes to resemble feeding minnows. That means very light twitches keeping the baits in about the same spot, then moving forward a couple of feet and working it again. This year I have used a double fluke rig exclusively. I have also experimented with several different brands. Give the YUM Houdini Shad a try.
  8. Spinning tackle would be a much better fit at this point. I buy most of my rods and reels here on our Flea Market. Specific suggestions: Shimano Symetre 2500 gently used for around $75 Someone else will have to help with a $75 used rod, but it should be Medium Power/ Fast Action.
  9. MBR = Magnum Bass Rod 84 = 84" = 7' 2 = Medium Power Action = Fast http://www.gloomis.com/publish/content/gloomis_2010/us/en/conventional/rods/classic_bass_rods/classic_mag_bass.html
  10. We're not closing the thread, but the policy is still intact: We are absolutely against any form of illegal fishing and will not allow any such threads or posts advocating such activity. All such posts are deleted. In addition, any material or posting that advocates or discusses illegal activities, with or without the intent to commit them, is prohibited. The key phrase is "advocating such activity". I don't see any "intent" here.
  11. G.Loomis MBR842C/ Core 50MG/ Tatsu #12 This might be my favorite rig! It's my dedicated set-up for small swimbaits and swim jigs.
  12. Vanish gets bashed pretty consistantly around here. Surprisingly, 25# Vanish is Big O's line of choice. Go figure.
  13. Play with a jig in shallow, clear water. Watch how the jig reacts as you drag and lift it over a rock. I try to imitate the movement of a crawdad: slow retrieve with an occasional pop and long pauses. I would also suggest ALWAYS using a trailer.
  14. If the boater is treating you like a partner, you need to figure out what works. On the otherhand, if you are "nobody" in the back of his boat, troll a Rage Tail Eeliminator Carolina rigged.
  15. I had the same experience and many others have, too. Try the Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6 on spinning tackle, #12 for baitcasters. If you want to try another brand of fluorocarbon, Seaguar is pretty good: InvizX for spinning tackle, AbrazX for baitcasting.
  16. I fished it slow, moving just a few inches at a time and lifting it occasionally with the rod tip.
  17. Great reel, great advice! Just saw this in our Flea Market: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/125649-like-new-chronarch-50e/
  18. My newest acquisition: http://www.megabassusa.com/products/vision-110-fx-tour-premium The jerkbait has evolved.
  19. How did Kate Upton get into that swiming suit?
  20. The offer is limited. I bought some Super Natural today, but the good stuff is NOT on sale.
  21. Hmm... Spinning gear = finesse Baitcasting = power
  22. Swim jigs work great in stained water. Nothing works for me in muddy water.
  23. I think Mizzou will surprise a few teams this year.
