  1. Below Wheeler, Wilson and Pickwick dams in the fall and winter is best.
  2. C'mon guys...You are members on the #1 Bass Forum on the internet. Our guys have already given you some good advice. My advice is to step it up a bit.
  3. Give them away or throw them away. There are so many better alternatives.
  4. All three companies make some GREAT spinnerbaits!
  5. Geez.... The guys aren't too friendly? Find another lodge.
  6. GYCB Kut Tail
  7. Well, I'm sorry to report that I just don't like throwing this big bait. Perhaps a more technique specific rod would help, but I really don't think this is for me. However, I'm going to stick with it until I catch a fish! Now that I at least know how I am suppose to be retrieving the Hudd, the chances of a strike have probably increased dramatically.
  8. The St. Croix Avid AVC68MXF is a great choice!
  9. Please read FAQs (top right corner): I have a dispute with 'company X'. Can I post about it here? While we can empathize with your frustration, the best course of action is deal directly with the company. Escalate it up the ladder, file a grievance with PayPal or Ebay (if they were involved with the transaction). File a mail fraud complaint with the post office. There are other options, but attacking the company in a public forum is not appropriate nor allowed. Such posts will be removed. This thread is closed. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  10. Your issues have more to do with equipment than the line. It sounds to me like you have become interested in the sport to the extent that you might consider devoting more time and money for greater enjoyment. Spend some time in the "Rods, Reels Line and Knot" section to get a feel for what other guys are using. In the meantime, spool up some 8 lb Trilene XL on the reel you have.
  11. Fished the Hudd exclusively for nearly three hours Sunday morning. The fish won again, not a touch.
  12. MegaStrike Strike Back and Siebert Outdoors Cosmic spinnerbaits are top of the line.
  13. Hmm... You need to try a Rage Tail Craw and Lobster, your search is over!
  14. Rage Tail "purple" is Blue Fleck. I fish the Thumper and Anaconda in a variety of colors, but this is my favorite!
  15. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/flw-chickamauga-63013.html Otherwise, Rage Tail Thumper (blue fleck), NorthStar Original Swim Jig/ Rage Tail Shellcracker (Hard Candy) and Siebert Outdoors Big O/ Rage Tail Lobster (Falcone), MegaStrike ShakE2/ GYCB Kut Tail and your choice of drop shot.
  16. If you guys will pick up the airfare, lodging, guides and meals, I'll chaperone for free!
  17. For the past several months I have been fishing Kanzen and Tuf-Line braid with a Tatrsu leader on several rigs, both spinning and baitcasting. On spinning tackle I am using 10 lb Tuf-Line with 10 lb Tatsu. The baitcasting set-up is Kanzen 40 with either Tatsu 12 lb or 20 lb depending on technique. If you will take the time to master the Alberto's Knot so that you have 100% confidence in this rig, these line/ leader combinations are the best of both worlds.
  18. Dead solid 10...I hope they go country!
  19. "Old" is a state of mind...http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2352076/Glastonbury-2013-Night-living-dead-Rolling-Stones-rock-festival.html
  20. Start here: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_articles.html This is another: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/60793-best-of-bassresourcecom/
  21. I have bought most of my rods and reels from BR members on our Flea Market. My "rule of thumb" is around 60% of retail for NIB or "Gently Used".
