Here is a starter kit that might just fit the bill: Good Morning Bass Resource! I'm proud to announce the Storm Jig. The Storm jig series is designed by the Moderators at Bass Resource that are some of their favorite colors. The biggest news of this series is a .75 of every jig is donated to Tackle the Storm. Those that are throwing The Rig are glad that some have chosen not to: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/bfl-pickwick-31813.html
  5. Don't cheat yourself, you need to bring The Rig along: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/bfl-pickwick-31813.html
  6. Last year is was #1 Mizzou that failed to show up.
  7. That's not surprising...Most guys do a lot better with things they fish rather than things they don't... It makes a big difference where you are fishing. A weedless presentations just makes more sense sometimes.
  8. That's true, but they really shine RIGHT NOW!
  9. Looks like a family car to me!
  10. Think of a lake as connected ponds, then slice & dice! The biggest advantage of lakes is greater opportunities for locating structure.
  11. Sounds to me like this young man has his head on his shoulders and is kept under the watchful eyes of his mother. I especially like her oversight on anything "internet". Good for you and thank your parents for their help and support!
  12. "Life experiences" are facts, but involve many uncontrolable variables. For example, it's a "fact" that I catch bass every time I fish except when I don't catch any!
  13. Mike (Seibert Outdoors) will take care of you.
  14. There is a very subtle difference between slack and semi-slack line. The only time I have "slack" line is when I allow a bait or lure to free-fall. In this case you will not "feel" a bite, but might "see" one if your line jumps or stops falling. Semi-slack line is more the norm. This is how most guys fish bottom contact baits, i.e., soft plastic and jigs. The bite is often subtle and it may take some time to develope a "feel" for the light strike. If you keep after it, it will come to you.
  15. Welcome aboard!
  16. Senko77 posted some strong comments a couple of months ago about this bait. I picked up three different colors, but have not fished them yet. These will be "new to me" baits and I doubt many of the fish around here have ever seen one either.
  17. Well, I fish several paddle tails including the Shadalicious, but I am really interested in hearing about the Money Minnow. These baits appear to be a little thicker in both the head and tail. I was wondering if a jig head might be a better option here. I use the weighted hook on both the Hollow Belly and Shadalicious, but a jig head on the Keitech Swing Impact Fat.
  18. First year with this bait. Anyone have tips on their favorite size and rigging?
  19. Here is a simple solution: Take advantage of the Tuf-Line $4.99 special. #10 SuperCast has a .005" diameter and 16 lb breaking strength. http://www.tuf-line.com/products_Tuf-Lines_23.html
  20. That was "down home", I kinda liked it. More to come as we continue testing the line. So far, so good!
  21. Yes, that is an important clarification!
